Morphius from Return to Zork. You have to beat him at a game of Survivors, and then Magic Johnson comes out and says thanks. :)

The music during the penultimate boss in Chrono Trigger is like, OMG the best video game music ever. :(

I wish I get to use the word penultimate more. :(

That reminds me- The final boss in fallout. If you're smart enough, you can get him to realize what he's done is wrong and he lets you escape, or you can tell him to go to hell and kill him yourself, or you can simply blow the place up some other way.

Bowser in SMB3. It's always fun to kill him (or watch him kill himself), but then he tries to pull that pause forever bullshit on you, and it took me awhile to figure out how to overcome it or not wonder if I have a defective cartridge, because the Internet's mom and Internet's dad didn't have the sex yet and I couldn't look it up. :(

Yep, i'm really going to say Sephiroth, even though everyone and their mother likes him. I also liked whatever his face was at the end of RE:2, it was neat blasting him with the Python. The RAYs, though a ludicrous idea, were fun to fight because it took some skill to really be able to manage them, but if you were good enough at it, you could blast them to shit without having to stop for health. I loved the swordfight with Solidus, too. It was really fun being able to choose how you cut with the sword, instead of just having a set combo of chops, and his death was awesome.

The Seed-Shooting Giant Watermelon from "Stinger (http://www.i-mockery.com/classicgames/detailed.asp?Type=Console&ID=66)", the Huge Psycho Krusty Clown Balloon thingy and Mr. Burns Death Robot Machine from the "Simpsons Arcade Game (http://www.i-mockery.com/classicgames/detailed.asp?Type=arcade&ID=948)", and of course a bunch of the bosses from the various "MegaMan" games.

I second Lavos from CT. The build up to him then the final approach and each character's speech followed by that music. Its truly awsome. I like Frog's little speech when you approach Lavos. His theme is the best video game song ever.

Uh, I don't think you can out-smart Frank Horrigan, but there are two dudes right before you fight him that you can trick into helping you, then you can hack the defense system to help you kill Frank. But I think that's all your wit can do in that fight.

THERE WAS A SECRET ITEM CALLED A SEVERED TOE AND YOU CAN ONLY USE IT ON FRANK AND WHEN YOU DO HE BLOWS UP

if you're talking about fallout, you get a sixth toe if you step in the goo in the Toxic Caves without boots on. You can get the toe removed in Vault City, where it appears in your inventory. The toe, if eaten, lowers your maximum HP by 4, which is the same thing it does to Frank Horrigan if you use it on him. He does not blow up.

Though after you beat the game the hookers in New Reno tell you to use the toe on him next time. But it's a joke. Or something.

nemesis (RE3), because he was a bad-ass,

perfect chaos (sonic adventure) - because of the music (with its mad lyrics)

Legion - (castlevania SOTN) - screaming naked zombie body ball, need i say more?

Kefka was the coolest villain in a game by far. My entry for most memorable (if not most interesting or exciting) boss in a game is the heart at the end of Contra.

Half-life's Nahilanth - now there was an original end boss! A giant flying alien baby with three arms! You had to destroy the three power crystals (which were composed of the same stuff that caused the accident in the first place, remember); then wait for his skull to open up so you could jump and shoot his brain!

The best bit was when you entered the final chamber - Nahilanth appears in front of you, really close, and says "Freeeeeeemaaaannn!!!" - how did he know your name? Spooky! Then the ledge collapses and you fall into the murky water at the bottom of the pit, rocky spikes reaching up like beckoning skeletal fingers...

Awesome.

My friends lied to me. :(

This is still Fallout 2 though we're talking about, not 1 though.

The hardest boss I ever played was the final fantasy 3 one. Never beat him actually.

Unless you had enough Shurikens, you would never be able to beat him. I did, though.
