Sometimes I am typing, and my keyboard locks up. I always restart. Any solutions to my problem without restarting my computer?

I am definitely no expert on this area, but when my keyboard has locked up on me, I now always look to see if I pressed the "Scroll Lock" button (over the numpad). I have done this often by accident and it certainly locks everything up! :/ :)
