View Full Version : Aschcroft trying to rape our freedoms again

Unbelievable. This man has got to be the spawn of Satan himself.
It makes me sad. Even the folks who tout our "freedoms" don't seem to understand that there are now almost no freedoms left for which to fight.
When you read between the lines, and you see how proposed laws can be abused, you have to recognize the level of corruption in our government, and bet your ass that those laws WILL be abused. Count on it.
Better write to your Congressmen on this one.

Oh, here's a link to the proposal itself, straight from the DOJ.

See, I don't mind the rape so much as the way he won't stop fucking the corpse. That's just undignified.
Seriously, if you haven't read the stuff Spad posted links to, do it now. It reads like the first chapter of very bad paranoid conspiracy sci fi novel.
I'm fairly concinced that the 'inevitability'' of war with Iraq and the Orange Level Alert and Duct Tape are all about obscurring shit like this and pushing it off the front page.
By the way, Enron defrauded the government of over a billion dollars in taxes. I found that little tidbit on page five.

Any of us posting anti war anti bush statements in this forum are fucked
No one cares anymore. The media doesn't care, and therefore the peple don't care. History repeats itself., we can only expect it to get worse

Don't go quietly into the night, guys. Fight this shit like hell and make your voice of opposition heard at every level of politics, from the grassroots to the White House.

My letter to Senator Hagel:
Dear Senator Hagel;
I am writing with regard to the Domestic Security Enhancement Act of 2003. This is an item that whose existence has been publicly denied, then downplayed by the Department of Justice. I do not know whether this is something that has crossed your desk or not, but felt compelled to bring it to your attention.
The implications of the draft are frightening, especially in light of the powers already granted to law enforcement by the hastily-drafted USA PATRIOT Act as well as the Homeland Security Act. A copy of the draft can be found at http://www.publicintegrity.org.
Should this be brought to the Senate for approval, I urge you to vote against it. The already expansive powers granted to law enforcement to circumvent Due Process could be brought to Orwellian proportions.
As Benjamin Franklin said, "They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety." Likewise, as much as the Bush Administration touts that the War on Terror is a fight to defend our freedoms, I contend that we cannot fight for freedoms if we no longer have any.
Thank you for your time.

The great thing about the internet is that the modern day blacklist will be so massively long it will be useless. It will just be a gigantic black data base with about half the population on it.
