Sort of a strange request...

For a long time now, I've wanted to conduct "The Ultimate Generic Dr. Pepper Taste Test". Basically, I would have people from all around the country send me a can/cans or bottle/bottles of whatever generic forms of Dr. Pepper and Mr. Pibb that they can find (there's hundreds of 'em such as "Dr. Thunder", "Dr. Perky", etc.). From there, I would do a big minimock taste test of all the different kinds and judge them on several things including "Name", "Label Design", "Taste", and more. I wouldn't be the only judge in this obviously... I'm sure I could get Proto and Jaeger to join in for the judging and possibly some others.

Anyway, would any of you be up for sending me whatever generic forms of Dr. Pepper and Mr. Pibb you can find? If you guys don't have the spare cash or whatever to do it, I completely understand... just throwing the idea out there.

Sure, that's perfectly fair. Anybody that took the time to send me one or more generic brands of Dr. Pepper and/or Mr. Pibb would be able to get a title under their name.

Sooner the better, but there's no official due date.

As for being mentioned in the article, we'll see what happens. I might list the names/aliases of everybody who sent in cans. Time will tell. :P

I just thought of something. If we mail a bottle of generic mr.pibb, wouldn't it be flat? And that would give all the ones you have an advantage. Just a thought :(.

Don't be so sure, what's common in your area might not be in mine. I only shop at one or two different stores tops, so you might find something different. You can always post the name of it first if you want to see whether I have it or not.

Also, Mock, you should have a continuence of it. WHICH BRAN DOF DR PEPPER WILL TASTE BETTER MIXED WITH VODKA? Then which brand woul dbe better to chase vodka. Then do it for whisky, then rum. Actually, can I do that one?

I accept all brands of vodka, whiskey and rum, but dont send brandy. That shit's for the birds, it's funny to watch drunken birds. Uh, oh yea, send some cans. I prefer Vox vodka, because it has a shiny bottle, grey goose I love so. Like a child. Whiskey; jim beam, maybe early times if you're a shisty bastard. Woodford reserve is good, so is Knob ccreek. Please send all available vodka and whiskey to me, and those can things i was talking about earlier.
