Good old Nickelodeon. You can always count on them for releasing a bunch of nasty toys for the kids to play with. Well, on a recent venture to the local thrift shop, I came across one of Nickelodeon's more expensive playsets for a mere $1.98. Now that's an opportunity I just couldn't pass up. Check out this in-depth look at just what the Thingmaker Chill-A-Tron Lab can (and can't) do.

I used to have one of the ones where you put them in a little recolored easy-bake oven and they turned all gross and apparently you could throw them at your sister. I didn't have a sister so I had to settle for my mom, who promptly grabbed the spider trap I had laid, ate the spider, and then slapped me til the sun rose.

I miss those days. :(

My cousin had one of those thingmakers, and he wasn't successful either. Hell, none of the nickelodian shit worked, the flying blimp burst open too.

You were absolutely right about the way those things smelled, rog.
They smelled like satan gave birth to antichrist junior, and antichrist junior vomited the excrement of 1000 hobos onto a dump. Plus the critters that set made didn't last too long.

Wow, its not everyday you get ripped off after paying $2 for something. Grats ;)

My sister had a Dolly Maker ( or whatever, you know same thing as the creepy crawlers, but for girls).
That stuff was seriously perverted and scary. The number of naked miniature mutant rubber dolls she made with that is amazing.
Horror movie material I swear.

Rog, I should suggest that you look online to find a substitute to make the creatures with.

Also, Jell-O Giant Spiders would be delightful. :love

Thanks, good to see some people remember the old Thingmaker "Creepy Crawlers" too. Anyway, I would make Jell-O spiders out of these things, but there's so much residue from the "monster mix" left in the mold that is damned impossible to get out that it would probably get into the Jell-O too. I don't eat that stuff anyway... never cared for it. And no, there isn't always room for it. If there was, I wouldn't shit it out within 2 minutes of eating it.

I had a Creepy Crawlers set... in fact, I've still got a few of them left that I made years ago. One is attached to my monitor right now! :O

There's always room for Jell-O -Rog-! :)

Do you think that the powder is so old is that reason why is stuck on the mold that bad? I can believe it, and I doubt it too.

Also, you set yourself up for the Jell-O motto. :/

No it's not you, the site is getting a lot of extra traffic today, Jeanette. Try accessing it later on tonight or tomorrow and it should be loading up a lot better for ya. You'll definitely want to see all of the pics in it. If you don't, your life will never be complete. never.

What Drev said. Just use Jell-O with a much higher dose of gelatin and less water. That's how they make it bounce in the commercials. ;)

Duds are always fine by me, cuz it's still something to write about and poke fun at.

I can picture him saying:

"This is a DOOM house!"

"can I get my change in all singles!?!?"

etc

etc

or he's just about to explode into millions of Tom Jones pieces.

I mean, it's not unusual. :rolleyes
