TV Series On DVD to Computer

Is there any way that I can rip episodes of a TV series off a DVD without taking a whole bunch of steps and additional software. I did a google and found some that are just waaay to long to follow.
As far as software goes, I have DVD Decrypter and that's it.

There is a progam called a DIVX converter which is supposed to be able to convert DVD's into avi and mpg videos. Check out the DIVX web site.
