YO HO HO HO! WELCOME TO...
http://www.i-mockery.com/forum/secret-santa/secret-santa07.gif
SIGNUP THREAD

It's that time of year again. Time for I-Mockery's 3rd annual Secret Santa Event! This is the commemorative holiday event in which Mockers leave their computers for a few minutes to send ZANY and HILARIOUS gifts to other Mockers at random, who then post the results of the exchange on the forums in this thread. Then the Mockers who sent out gifts will receive gifts of their own to post on the forums. What this holiday commemorates exactly is lost to history, but tradition is tradition, and if there's anything internet addicts hate, it's change. So are you ready to send gifts to and receive gifts from people who, in all likeliness, are complete strangers? You bet you are!

So here's how it works: You sign yourself up in this thread. On or around November 27th, you will be PMed with the name of the Mocker whom you will be SENDING A GIFT TO. You should NOT share this information with anyone else. You will then buy a present with this person in mind - if you don't know anything about this person, don't worry about it, just buy something you think would be fun for just about anybody to receive and post pictures of. Make this a good present, but don't spend too much on it (between $15 and $20 USD, not including shipping costs). Send them their present WITH YOUR FORUM NAME IN THERE SOMEWHERE by December 5th. Shortly thereafter, you will receive a present from your very own Secret Santa! Take pictures of your gifts, import or scan 'em in, upload them, and share them with us by posting them this thread by December 20th. Feel free to create a fun story about your gifts with the photos. During this time, you should also buckle yourself up for jingle bells of jubilation.

Also, when you do post the pictures of the gifts you receive, we strongly encourage you to make a story/adventure out of it just like we've done in previous years. But at the very least, you should post photos of all the gifts you received along with your thoughts on them.

If you want to SIGN YOURSELF UP, you must do so by MAKING A POST IN THIS THREAD BY NOVEMBER 27th.

By signing, you agree to the following terms and conditions:
· Signing represents a contract. If you fail to uphold your end of the contract, you will be permanently banned from the forums, and possibly tracked down and sodomized.

· You MUST observe all deadlines and follow all of the instructions.

· You MUST spend the required amount of $15 - $20 on the gift for your recipient. This amount does not include any shipping charges.

· You MUST have a working camera (buy a disposable digital camera if you don't own a regular digital camera) and some means by which to transfer the images to your computer and upload them for others to see. We've been lenient about posting photos in the past, but there's no reason why anybody wouldn't have access to take a picture and post it on the web these days, so you will be banned if you fail to post your photos by the deadline unless you received your gifts late. If that happens, contact us and we'll work something out for you so you can post your photos a few days later.

· If you want to be lame and make/build something, that's fine and dandy, but please keep the spending minimum in mind and throw some other goodies in there. If you think parents really like it when their kids give them a crayon drawing as a present, you're wrong. DEAD wrong. If you're making something, we strongly suggest sending it in addition to the $15 - $20 worth of gifts that you buy for the person.· Your mailing address CANNOT be a P.O. Box. No gifts will be sent to P.O. boxes nor will anyone with a P.O box as a mailing address be allowed to participate in the Secret Santa event.

IF YOU'VE BEEN REGISTERED LESS THAN A YEAR:

To prevent misuse, any member who has been registered and active with these forums for less than a year MUST do the following:

1. Provide a picture of themselves with a sign that says both "I-MOCKERY SECRET SANTA 2007" along with their message forum name/name in plain view.

2. Post this picture in this thread for all to see.

3. Send a PM to Mockery (http://www.i-mockery.com/forum/profile.php?mode=viewprofile&u=2), who will then provide you with a mailing address for you to send a test/verification letter to. (the sooner you do this, the better)

4. Send a test letter to Mockery at the mailing address he provides you with. The letter needs to include your full name, return mailing address and your name here on the I-Mockery forums.

These steps are necessary to verify that you have a working camera and the motivation to get your ass to a post office.

DEADLINES:
· The cutoff date for SIGNUPS is November 27th.

· The cutoff date for SENDING GIFTS is December 5th.

· The cutoff date for POSTING PICTURES ON THE FORUMS OF THE GIFT(S) YOU RECEIVED is December 20th.

WHEN MAILING YOUR PACKAGE:
· You should probably observe federal law regarding what can and cannot be mailed.

· You MUST send your gift via Priority mail or your country's equivalent to avoid delays in people receiving their gifts.

· You MUST purchase a tracking number with your transaction. If your package is not received within a week, you will need this information to prove that it wasn't your fault.

· Do NOT send a PM or email to the person who you are sending a gift to in an attempt to let them know that you're their Secret Santa. It's called "Secret" Santa for a reason, people.

WHEN RECEIVING YOUR GIFT PACKAGE:
· You MUST take photos of all the items you receive and post them on them in this Secret Santa thread no later than December 20th, 2007.

· You MUST post some comments so everybody knows what you thought about the gifts you received. Creating a fun holiday story with your photos is also recommend, but not a requirement.

· If it's getting close to the posting deadline and you still haven't received your own Secret Santa gift package (say by roughly December 15th) please send a PM to Mockery (http://www.i-mockery.com/forum/profile.php?mode=viewprofile&u=2) so your Secret Santa gift sender can be contacted to see what the hold up is.

IF YOU LIVE OUTSIDE OF THE UNITED STATES:

· You can still participate in this event, but we will do our best to pair you up with somebody else who lives outsite of the U.S. as well. This is to avoid one person getting stuck with higher shipping charges. However, if we have an odd number of foreign participants, we'll obviously have one person who has to send his/her gifts out of the country. But hey, it's all part of the Secret Santa game and we expect everybody to live up to their end of the deal and not squabble over petty things like a few additional bux for shipping.

I'm definitely going to join, but there are few questions I'd like to ask first:

1) I do not have a digital camera, but I have smart cam on my laptop, is that good enough?

2) What do you mean by address being P.O. Box?

3) I have no idea how long it takes for a packet to ship from US to Finland and vice-versa, and I'm spending the Christmas at my folks (Onward from the 23rd of December). So, in case my packets haven't arrived then, is it possible for me to post pictures of 'em later?

If question 3) is ok for you/can be arranged, then feel free to add me as a participant.

Question 1) can easily be taken care of.

Mockery
Nov 17th, 2007, 07:58 PM
1) Is the "smart cam" like a web cam? If so, that should be fine as long as it can take clear enough photos of your gifts. If not, you can buy disposable digital cameras for really cheap nowadays. Just remember, your Secret Santa is taking the time to send you some gifts, the least you can do is clearly show everybody what you received from him/her along with posting your thoughts on the gifts.

2) A P.O. Box is a Post Office Box. (IE: it's a mailbox that isn't where you actually live).

3) All you have to do is make sure that your gifts are sent out on time. The person who sends a gift to you must send them on time as well. As stated in the rules, if you haven't already received your gifts by roughly December 15th, please let us know so we can contact your Secret Santa gift sender to see what the hold up is. If for some reason you receive your gift on or after the 20th, we will probably allow an additional 1 week grace period (from when you actually receive the gifts) for you to get the photos posted here on the forum. Out of fairness, I will try to pair up people who live in foreign countries with each other, so no hopefully single person gets screwed into additional shipping charges. Not making any promises though on that one heheh.

Let me know if you have any other questions. If not, tell me if you want me to add you to the list as a participant.

Well in that case, add me to the list, I missed last year's secret santa and I don't want to miss this year's

Oh and the photos are quite clear, because it's a 1.3 megapixel's camera. I can send few photos if you want to be sure.

I WILL DO THIS OPERATION.

HOWEVER: can we seriously strive for separating exchanges between the old regime and the neophytes? I mean, last year I had to SEND a gift to a kid who came from nowhere (I'm not saying he isn't a swell guy) and RECEIVED a gift from someone new as well (who had already accrued a merited reputation for lameness, incidentally). I know this might sound like the kind of elitism that we're striving to do away with, but seriously I think there's much more potential greatness if we distinguish between the classic vanguard and the incoming horde.

Oh yeah, and age should be listed too. I kinda sent a cigar last year with hopes of seeing pics of it being smoked, and he ended up being like 14. Oops!

Ill do it this year spending a minimum of fifteen dollars and will send the reciept if necessary. I'm not screwing you all like last year, which was a majorly retarded move. And, I could, I would go back in time and kick my own long haired, stupid ass.

I got something good for this year too. Not stuff I found around the house.

No offense, but I think that's not wise based on your reputation. You gave crap and received gold, man... But whatever, it's the organizer's decision.

I'm signing up! Hopefully I'll get to ship on the same continent this time.

And seth, how new is too new? :(

I really was a dick last year in this event. After I realized that it was an actual person and a really fun event that I had just ruined I felt terrible. So I spent the whole 3/4ths of the year trying to fix it while I, in my stupid little head, thought I was when in reality, I wasn't. And now I'm here and I would try to make up for at least one thing I did on here.

Ok you're signed up. I'll generally try to pair up new users with other new users, but again, if there's an odd number, some new users will obviously get paired up with older users. It's all for the fun of it, so just make the best out of it with whomever you get paired up. And I doubt we'll be listing ages for this thing...

As stated last year, you're not eligible to participate this time. You're simply too much of a risk after what you pulled last year and we don't want any of the other participants getting screwed over.

I'm signing up! Hopefully I'll get to ship on the same continent this time.

Ok you're signed up. As for the no digital camera thing, again, you can buy a disposable digital camera just about anywhere and most photo places will put all the images on a CD for you so you can import them onto your computer back at home.

You need to handle that yourself. You can't scale up a tiny pic like that and expect it to be readable. That looks more like a thumbnail than a normal size photo. You sure you have the right URL?

It'd be nice if they gave me another shot but rules is rules.
You'll have another shot next year, unless we somehow end up with an odd number of people overall this year, then you might have a chance of getting in.

Uh, he did it twice last year, if I recall.
Yes he did, and he was lucky not to be permanently banned at the time. Not only that, but he also acted very ungrateful for some very cool gifts that were sent to him. Wasn't exactly a shining example of "the holiday spirit" if you know what I mean... :o

I participated last year, recieved stuff made a huge ass story, sent my stuff (but never got to see a story out of them :( ). So do i still need to do the posting and showing a picture again?

Also, will the threats of a ban follow through because there was quite a few stories not getting posted so just wanted to know what the stance on it was.

I think that ages should be PM'd to the event coordinator, then sent to the person who will be buying their gift along with their address. It makes a huge difference in what you'll buy.

I will also not be dealing with new people for gift exchanging this year, after I got fucked two years in a row on this. I even went to all the trouble of making a letter written in blood by BAPE, only to have the fucker disappear forever.

OJB tried to send someone a week-old taco bell bean burrito, wrapped in duct tape, and the post office even accepted it, but he was given an incorrect address so it got sent back. He still has that burrito and keeps it in his fridge.

Also, people were banned last time for failure to meet obligations, but Glowbelly was spared and ZBF I think had his ban reduced to a couple months or something.

Ok, well as the rules state, we need you to be able to guarantee that you'll be able to send/receive everything on time. It's simply to avoid having you or your recipients getting screwed over. We don't wanna ruin anybody's fun in this event, because I hate to see some people get great Secret Santas and then other people have their Secret Santas shit all over them (even if it is unintentional). Where do you live exactly and why is the mail such a problem? If you can ensure that the gifts will be sent/received/posted on time, then we can let you participate no problemo. Otherwise, you'll prolly wanna sit this one out until you can get your mail situation sorted out.

Also, a reminder to everybody who has signed up or will be signing up...

I certainly have time for it this year, but I'll wait and see how many other Canadians sign up first. I still have ninjavenom's horribly disgusting tranny and black man porn from the first secret santa somewhere at home. I really like the idea of keeping new people seperate from the older ones.

You'd get a better reception if you sent something that was actually cool and interesting or, conversely, intentionally worthless. One that sticks out in my mind is Jixby getting the Rosie O'Donnell Christmas album.

I have a question. Well a couple of them.

First I know what I want to get for whomever I end up with. Trust me iit will be very interesting seeing what kind of story they come up with for it. However looking for the item on ebay (Its not used I just cannot get the item around here. I live up north. :( ) Anyways I notice most of the people selling it are charging inflated shipping prices to avoid the ebay fees. Actually it looks like all of them are. If they are charging like $20.00 s&H for something I think would be maybe $10.00 should I count the other &10.00 towards the price? Or should I just keep looking until I find an honest (Hee Hee Hee good luck to me.) Seller? Not that Im greedy but I have five kids and $40.00 or more on this is a bit much. :) Although it may be worth it to see what they come up with.

2. Ok now the easy one. Once I get a pick of myself with my sign is there anything special I need to do to make it show up on here?

Grislygus

Actually, we faked all of it, and David Icke is is 100% correct in his hyperfactual theories regarding world leaders and the space lizards from V. That being said, I would love to have the chance to once again participate in this hellish facade. Merry Hanukkah and Happy Christmas!

ie, "I'm in."

Jerks.

Also, while separating us newer schmucks from the finer herd is all well and good, I think we can all agree that Tithonaus' gift will most likely be a hellspawned siamese-twin flipper monkey baby and it will be a goddamned crime if it is given to someone who won't appreciate it.

Well you could obviously use fed-ex or UPS to ship out stuff on time. And like RaNkeri suggested, is there anybody nearby enough that could accept the package for you or anything? If ya gotta sit it out, that sucks, but yeah, there's always next year.

I would like to do this...but the all the sarcasm around here kinda makes me wonder if it's for real.
I assure you, this is for real. Check out the threads for the Secret Santa event from the past two years in this forum and you'll see it's quite real. Once you've done that, let me know if you'd like to sign up for the event this year.

If they are charging like $20.00 s&H for something I think would be maybe $10.00 should I count the other &10.00 towards the price? For your first question, I would just search for another seller or choose a different gift, because as stated, the actual gift needs to cost a certain amount. I'd also be wary of buying your gifts on eBay because some sellers can be really bad about shipping stuff out in time, and we wouldn't want to see you or your recipient get screwed over and banned just because you bought from a bad seller on eBay.

For your second question, you need to just upload your photos to some free photo hosting service (such as photobucket) and then post it here. Are you not all that internet savvy or somethin? It's not hard to upload pics and post 'em, but you need to have that stuff figured out before the deadline.

Yeah, you gave great gifts last year and that guy isn't involved in the event this go around, so you don't have to worry about that.

I'm In. I have been reading I-Mockery for a few years, but never noticed the Secret Santa event for some reason. I am new to the forum (this being my first post) but I am Definently willing to participate. First on the list is the Pic, but unfortunatly my camera is not with me at the moment...but I will probably post one later today, or worse case scenario tomorrow. I am SO glad I made the cut off because this should be interesting. Pic on the way and I will work on the others today also. So, Put me on the list! Oh and HungryWantBiddy, I love your Avatar and Sig. Futurama is my all-time favorite show.

EDIT: I aggree with those who say that, A) age should be given to Mockery to give to the gift-giver, and B) it would be a good idea for the event to be split between ones who have been posting for a while and new comers. Another Idea I had is for new posters to post some things they particularly like/dislike so nobody gets something they particularly dislike. Long time posters would have an Idea, but new persons, like myself, would have no Ideas. Any thoughts on the subject?

For your second question, you need to just upload your photos to some free photo hosting service (such as photobucket) and then post it here. Are you not all that internet savvy or somethin? It's not hard to upload pics and post 'em, but you need to have that stuff figured out before the deadline.

Im alright internet wise. Its posting pictures on message boards Im not savvy with. :) Ill get the picture of myself tonight have it developed on wednesday and post it then. :)

Hi, I'd like to sign up! I'm new to the forums, but have been checking i-Mockery every day since 2005. I hope this will be a lot of fun, I can read and write, take pics and have no intentions of screwing anyone over with lousy gifts. :x

Here's my pic - made with my amazing webcam *cough*. I have a digital camera at my sisters house, so story pics will be better quality.

I really was a dick last year in this event. After I realized that it was an actual person and a really fun event that I had just ruined I felt terrible. So I spent the whole 3/4ths of the year trying to fix it while I, in my stupid little head, thought I was when in reality, I wasn't. And now I'm here and I would try to make up for at least one thing I did on here.

ok what?until you realized it was a real person? who the hell do you think went out and spent money on your ass? oh yeh, me. and who do you think you were sending stuff to? a make believe person? you were definately a dick last year.

I was just about to comment on that. Last year a bunch of people came outta the woodwork just to participate in this and it looks like the same is happening now. This is exactly why people are saying they wanna pair the newer people together and the "vets" together.

Edit: Count me in too. I'll need something to kill a bit of time once I finish classes for the semester and I'll have a bit of extra cash too. I ALSO REALLY AGREE WITH THE AFOREMENTIONED IDEA OF PAIRING UP NEW PEOPLE TOGETHER. I don't care about being paired up with other Canadians though.

I don't really mind sending a gift to US or Canada, but Europe's fine for me, at least it won't take as much time for it to be mailed. As long as the one receiving the gift is an active/old forum member I don't really care where he lives.

It's not that new forum members haven't been on I-Mockery.com for a while, most new users have been on I-Mockery for years from what I've seen. The simple fact is that a lot of the people who have been on the forums for a while are worried that they'll get screwed over by a new forum user who just happened to sign up for a Secret Santa event. So that's why we're pairing new users with other new users. It's a good way to keep everything balanced and let everybody have fun with the event. And yeah, there are female members here, several of whom are participating, but it's never been a secret that there are way more male forum members heheh.

How do you post a pic here? On the only other Forum I just post the link to it and the pic appears in the post. But I can't post the pic without it being so massively large, that only half of the pic will appear. I tried the 'Insert Image' link, but it ignores my picture altogether. What to do?

You have to use IMG tags and point it at a URL, like so:

Only you wouldn't really have the spaces in the [ img ] tags.

I use photobucket and mine is showing up fine. The IMG tags are missing so that might be the problem. Also I noticed theres a few boxes with the code pre done for you with tags and everything. Just get the one that allows adding to message boards and you should be all set.

I have put the [IMG] on and, it ussually comes on automatically, but I tried putting it on manually, and it does the same thing just shows a link but with [IMG] on either end. I tried the link for both 'Forum' witch I ussually use, and 'Message Board' and neither work.

But hey, it's all part of the Secret Santa game and we expect everybody to live up to their end of the deal and not squabble over petty things like a few additional bux for shipping.

hey draw a sidewalk wants to join, she'll send the email confirm for BOTH OF US (same address for both us just like last year)

she wants to be paired with a vet, and she wants a girl (if she can get one, she thinks it a girl will be easier to shop for as she was unpleased shopping for hickman last year :lol)

email coming soon (later tonight when she gets off work)

"Draw A Sidewalk" can join when she posts here herself. And you both need to send separate emails because that's how I'm keeping track of all this shit. Furthermore, she'll get paired with a vet (if she signs up in time) since she participated before, but I'm not taking any other requests as far as who gets paired up with who. This is a "secret" santa event after all. So if she can't deal with being paired up with a guy (which is more likely to happen) then she should prolly sit this one out.

On topic, you said "but I'm not taking any other requests as far as who gets paired up with who. This is a "secret" santa event after all." but Would it be possible to not be paired with someone outside of the U.S.? The only reason I say that is, I would have trouble shipping it. Sorry.

Thanos, if another person pops up (such as Misdemonar, who was having trouble sending our her address confirmation email) I might be able to set you two up for a mutual exchange. But that's about the best I could offer... and it's something the two of you would have to work out since you're a new user and you never sent your verification snail mail letter on time either.

I had an Idea. Anyone think it would help for getting gifts to send if people post their specific likes/dislikes? I just can't find an easier way of finding out what others are interested in, other that reading post, after post, after post... I know this idea is going to get 1 of 3 different responces. Responce 1, "Yeah, that sounds good. I like......". Responce 2, "No way, that is the stupidest idea I have ever heard! And I have heard some of Peter Griffin's!" Or, the most common, Responce 3"_________ ". (Completely getting ignored.) (again). I just thought it would prevent something like the story I heard from Secret Santa's Past, The 14-year-old getting a Cigar. I don't know... Any thoughts?

EDIT: Sorry Misdemonar, that bytes.

Let me know if you guys want to do that and I'll send you guys your assignments.

No. Do NOT even bother doing this at all. Secret Santa is all about the SURPRISE factor of what you're getting. Will it be good? Will it be lame? Who knows. That's the risk you take and it's all part of the fun. This event isn't about who gets the best gifts... it's about having fun sending somebody some gifts and seeing them post about 'em here on the forums. If you're in this to get great shit for yourself, you're in it for the wrong reasons.

I got home and loaded up my envelope with my gifts, and realized I couldn't find my "test gift" I mentioned before. Oh shit, I thought, I left it on the floor of the post office. Sadly, this was by far the best gift I was to include.

So I hitch a ride back to the post office and about 30 seconds after I leave the car it hits me "FUCK! I FORGOT MY DAMN PACKAGE!" I hate myself, I get my gift back from the post office though, so now I have to go back there later tonight for the third damn time. Misdemonar, honestly, I'd save whatever you bought for now. While it's odd you bought stuff in advance but were still unable to get some of the simpler tasks done in time, there's always the chance that one of the other participants will get screwed over. Should that happen, perhaps we can work it out so you can get in and help do some damage control. I'm hoping nothing like that happens this year though and it sounds like everybody's been sending out their stuff on time (though many waited 'til the last possible minute haha).

In the beginning there was a bag.

http://h1.ripway.com/Trikstark/Secret%20Santa/wrapper.jpghttp://h1.ripway.com/Trikstark/wrapper.jpg

And it was pretty.

Inside the bag was a box.

http://h1.ripway.com/Trikstark/Secret%20Santa/box.jpghttp://h1.ripway.com/Trikstark/box.jpg

And it was also pretty. And taped.

And inside the box was chocolate.

And I was happy.

Mr. Fazer makes really nice chocolate. But there were more gifts! For example, Salmiakki. I'm not a big fan myself, but my mom likes it.

http://h1.ripway.com/Trikstark/salmiakki.jpg
http://h1.ripway.com/Trikstark/Secret%20Santa/salmiakki.jpg

This thing looked kinda innocent.

http://h1.ripway.com/Trikstark/gummi.jpg

http://h1.ripway.com/Trikstark/gummicrop.jpg

It says: Be always happy with practical joke.

http://h1.ripway.com/Trikstark/gummisnap.jpg

http://h1.ripway.com/Trikstark/Secret%20Santa/gummisnap.jpg

I pulled out the "gummi" and an iron spring hit my thumb. It actually kinda hurt, I mean, it's supposed to give you a scare but this thing is pretty vicious! It's hits you right beside the nail, where it hurts the most. Someone who really hates children and/or practical jokes must have made it. I guess he's sitting in the factory all day, bending all the springs a bit to the side...:hypno

And then there was this very discreet brown envelope. This scared me. I noticed the words tranny porn somewhere on the forum, and the letter in the box told me RaNkeri "wasn't expecting to be paired up with a girl, so some gifts might feel a little strange".

http://h1.ripway.com/Trikstark/Secret%20Santa/discreet.jpg

Iek?

It's Spidermanni! With a link to a finnish translation site. I decided to read it without help first. I mean, I've been reading comics for about eight years now, and well...it's not rocket science.

There's a very ugly Carnage on the cover, and Venom and Bullseye. Excitement! Inside there's the Fantastic Four. This has to be Civil War stuff. Ah yes, there's Iron Man and...some guy with wings and an eagle on his chest. Spidey in his horrible shiny suit has a four page fight with Iron Man. There I spotted this panel. Warning! Not for the faint of heart.

OMG?! I knew there was reason I stopped reading Spiderman a few years ago :x:x:x:x XD

For no reason at all I made a pic of Cap with a pre-made camera phone afro.

aj2217, nice pics. That officially marks the first time in the history of I-Mockery's Secret Santa events that somebody ever received a beer as one of their gifts. That's definitely a keepsake. And RaNkeri is right, it will be worth billions if you hold onto it long enough. Sell that shit on eBay in about five years....

Vila
Dec 6th, 2007, 08:42 PM
Uncle Ed’s package arrived today. Inside was the usual mix of stuff.

http://i217.photobucket.com/albums/cc21/vilawolf1/pic031207_2.jpg

In his own style nothing had been wrapped if you did not count the newspaper padding around the plastic figures. Always fun to rummage through but this time, clear as day was a small Barney the Purple Dinosaur doll and story book attached. I laughed and laughed and laughed until a friend saw and ran to get the orange pill bottle that would set me right.

http://i217.photobucket.com/albums/cc21/vilawolf1/pic031207_15.jpg

‘Uncle Ed Broke Vila!!’ was the call that went up.

After the anti-psychotics were swallowed and the Barney doll removed I explained to the small gathered crowd of friends and family that back in the day I use to baby sit a neighbors kids who would watch that damn dinosaur sing for hours and hours at a time, finally causing me to loose a small bit of my mind.

http://i217.photobucket.com/albums/cc21/vilawolf1/pic031207_1.jpg

The wizarding figures were alright enough and now rest in the bottom of my frog tank where they are being much enjoyed by Freddy The Frightened Frog Who Lived On A Log Down In The Bog. Long name for a tiny African Dwarf Frog. Then again he was nearly five years old and not nearly as tiny as he use to be.

http://i217.photobucket.com/albums/cc21/vilawolf1/pic031207_18.jpg
http://i217.photobucket.com/albums/cc21/vilawolf1/pic031207_19.jpg
http://i217.photobucket.com/albums/cc21/vilawolf1/pic031207_20.jpg

The CD sparked a malicious glint in Vila’s eyes. Now she finally had a weapon worthy of the feud that was taking place. The neighbors and she would take turns on their vacations playing the most ridiculous music they could find as loud as they could. After her CD of Chinese Opera had disappeared, Vila had been in dire need of another CD. There was nothing wrong with the Star Wars theme, but four different cuts of the song played at level 90 for a week strait would be more than enough to annoy the neighbors.

http://i217.photobucket.com/albums/cc21/vilawolf1/pic031207_9.jpg

The N’Sync magnet was another great laugh as I am more likely to be found listening to bands such as E Nomine. These packaged product bands that the record companies put out hardly drew my attention. Yet another sign that Uncle Ed who’s intentions were always good but always falling far short of the mark.

http://i217.photobucket.com/albums/cc21/vilawolf1/pic031207_13.jpg

The Hat was hilarious and I wore it for the rest of the day. It was clearly suppose to be a re-gift meant for Uncle Ed, but he wasn’t going to get this one back!! I swapped it for my old Cowboy Hat and even tough people stared at me when I was out and about I smiled on. Hell this is Bakersfield. It’s not as if the town is too good for this hat. Hell this is the town where the natives actually brag about reclaiming items from the dump and taking them hope and refurbishing them.

http://i217.photobucket.com/albums/cc21/vilawolf1/pic031207_16.jpg

‘I haven’t seen one of these in years’ I said holding up the wooden snake and wiggling it for a minute. It brought back memories of that old movie my little brother liked so much … what was it’s name? Little Ninjas … Kid Ninjas … or something?

http://i217.photobucket.com/albums/cc21/vilawolf1/pic061207_1.jpg

The glass chess set was a surprisingly touch of class from Uncle Ed, who had never played chess a day in his life.

http://i217.photobucket.com/albums/cc21/vilawolf1/pic031207_22.jpg

The candy canes and Pirates of the Caribbean chocolate coins seemed to have been added as an after thought to add cheer to the gift and they were gone before the day was out.

Well, I have them in a smaller "test tank" at the moment to make sure there are no weird chemicals on them that are going to hurt Freddy. I had to poke holes in two of the wizards cause they float. I was careful Alli and did not break them :) so far they're doing ok but I want to be safe with em and I'll get a pic of them with Freddy as soon as they go in the big tank.

I got a phone call at work from my wife that went kind of like this:

Wife: "What did you order?">:

The Captain: "Huh?"

Wife: "There was a package at the door, you said you are gonna quite ordering things!">:

The Captain: "I haven't ordered Jack, what the hell are you talking about???"

Wife: "Well, why was there a package from the mailman at the door with Reno 911 season 1 and a dollar DVD in it then?"

The Captain: (Now knowing what is going on but still finding it funny to string the wife along) I don't know was there a note? Was there a threat involved?":lol

Wife: "No, but whoever sent this put seven layers of tape... It's just ridiculous."

The Captain: "Hmm... (Laughing very hard internally) I will have to check it out when I get home.":lol

I finally made it home and explained to the wife what was going on, her response was to look at me like I was an escaped mental patient and walk away without saying a word. I looked at the pile of psychotic amounts of tape on the floor and had a decent laugh knowing that somebody has a sense of humor and that my wife had to deal with it in strange and unexpected ways. I read the letter that accompanied and had a second laugh, it read:

"I hope you have a chain saw" -Vila-

Very cool gift and method of wrapping, :rockas it was funny and annoyed my wife. When I read her the letter I got the same blank stare and she again walked away from me saying nothing... what can I say? Lady has no sense of humor. Very F'ing cool gift Vila. On an added note I got two days later a letter from Bakersfield, California. "What odd follow up could this be?" I said to myself tearing it open while sitting in my car. Good Ol' Vila was concerned I wasn't gonna dig what was already sent (Which I think rocks so... no worries brother!) and the inside contents was coinage from around the world! Very cool amigo and I appreciate it. I contemplated taking each coin off the paper that it was systematically taped on to, but enjoyed the lesson in where each coin made it's pilgrimage from so much that I left it on and will proudly be hanging it on my wall in my room next to this crappy PC that still signs on through "Dial Up"... unless I go to Greece or something.

Thanks again brother... good stuff and probably the best I will get all X-mas.

There were 27 layers of tape on it. You only got packing (ran out of painters) and painters tape. Family gets Duct Tape. :) Glad you liked em and glad you and your wife got kicks from the packing.

Oh be careful who you show that conferderate coin to. From what I've been told it once was and may still be an act of treason having it. Not too sure though.

They successfully participated in the event on time last year which is a lot more than some people (including vets) can say, so no, they're not considered new.

:quityerbitchin

As for people not having their gifts yet, give it 'til the 15th or 16th and then start worrying. The postal service is notoriously slow around this time o' year, but as long as you provided the correct address to me during your Secret Santa sign-ups and your S.S. didn't completely fuck things up, your gifts should arrive within a reasonable amount of time.
