Vertigo books tend to be a "cut above" the rest of the DC universe in my opinion.

I've usually felt that DC, or at least Vertigo, shows better judgment than Marvel about when to axe a series, but they're just going batshit crazy about things this last month. Crossing Midnight especially; it's an excellent series.
