Annihilation was/is a fantastic series. I think the prologue books were the weakest part. The story only gets better, especially Conquest.

Yeah, the Drax the Destroyer one was a little weird.

He starts off as a big retard who gets smarter as people beat on him, then he dies and comes back to life as a sleeker version of himself who kills space insects with knives from a sport goods store? What the hell is that?

I must admit I've steered clear of the entire Annihilation event. I've never cared much about the Marvel Cosmos.
