A true classic. I've loved this one since I was four years old.

While the movie may have aged gracefully, I cannot say the same for Hoggle. His puppet resided for years in a local store called The Unclaimed Baggage Center. They allowed him to fall into disrepair for years. Eventually his skin and clothing started falling off inside his exhibit case. Finally, last year they sent him off to some two bit production company to have them repair him. He looks like a giant plastic toy now.

You remind me of the babe. What babe? The babe with the power. What power? The power of voodoo? Who do? You do. Do what? Remind me of the babe.

The film was as much about his package as it was about a labyrinth.

They came out with a special edition, pretty sure it was the limited edition bonus package. I couldn't figure out how they would put more David Bowie package in this movie.

I've always been hesitant to see this movie, and it's based purely on the cover / poster picture. I just don't know if I could stand looking at that for over an hour.

Fantastic movie! I *still* want that crystal ball.

Nifty fact - There's a manga out called "Return to Labyrinth" that continues Toby's adventures after he's hit high school and gets pulled back into the world by Jareth.

Scary fact - They originally wanted Michael Jackson for Jareth.

I can't imagine anyone but Bowie with that hair...

I think you would be hard pressed to find someone on the entire internet that didn't love this movie. It seems to be the one constant across cyberspace.

This is my all time favorite movie. David Bowie was my first celebrity crush. Now I feel really strange when I watch it and see his junk in those tight white pants.

Fair enough. It's probably just because the rest of us were looking for it on purpose.....

I agree that it's pretty hard to miss. I remember averting my eyes, even when I was kid, at his ridiculously tight pants and giant package. Bowie is awesome when he's spinning those crystal balls though.

Sorry. I have the DVD too. They had a bloke under his cloak to do all the fancy bits....

"Bret, It's me 1986 David Bowie from the movie labyrinth"

This movie is a good family movie despite who confusing some of the scenes that are confusing for kids ( or atleast were to me)

I remember rewatching this when I was in High School after seeing it as a kid and my best friend and I couldn't stop laughing our asses off about the whole tight tights thing. I tried to get my 6-year-old cousin to watch this and he practically died of boredom, though. What the hell is with the Pokemon generation?

Sadly, the manga isn't anywhere near as good (story wise AND drawing wise) as the original movie. I've written better fan-fiction (yes, I was one of those people back in high school). Pretty covers though.

Also, Sting and Mick Jagger were considered for the roles of Jareth (I think Sting would've been an interesting choice; he seems like the type who could also pull off a ruffly shirt and still be sexy).

just got this again recently on DVD, hadn't watched it yet. I was too young to notice Bowie's package, so I KNOW I'm gonna end up seeing it when I see the movie again... Thanks Guys... :)

Don't bother with the manga "sequel," I flipped through it the last time I was at Barns & Noble - just terrible. However there is a Dark Crystal manga that's a prequel to the film and not too shabby from the looks of it. :)

I think it's obvious I love this movie, It always warms my heart to see it get a bit of love (None of my friend's are fans of the movie, I'm always arguing with one that David Bowie is better than Batman).

I have actions figures of Jareth, one of them talks and it amuses me to no end.

Oh, I always loved how the puppets talked directly to his crotch at one point. This was one of the many movies playing in the background as my parents and their friends played AD&D when I was a kid.
It's also amusing to me that as many conversations come up about this (including one about this yesterday I had in a coffee shop with some people) that people seem to forget that stuffing was rather commonplace among tights-wearing rock stars. Don't simply jump to conclusions...
