RPG naming conventions

If there's a default, I'll go with that.

However, if I have to name a character, I usually just think of something really vulgar.

Yeah, default. Although as a kid I named all the characters in Final Fantasy I stuff like "FART" or "BUTT."

I name them after myself/friends. I usually stick with the same names if I replay a game more than once, even if those people are long gone in my life. The rival in Pokemon is named after some kid I hated in 7th grade and I've used that name whenever I play Pokemon ever since :\

I NEVER Name Characters after myself because...what if my character dies?....for some reason it makes me feel bad. :'(

Anyway I usually name my characters around the lines of "IMRICKJAMESBITCH"

I usually name the chars after myself and friends of mine. My friend names them ridiculous things. Like in FF8 he named Shiva "Ice Whore" just for the opening dialogue when you go to fight Ifrit he's like "Oh, I see you have Ice Whore, my nemesis!"

The summons in FFX got some bad treatment, like naming the first one DEFAULT, there was also Stanky and Ron because "Big Pimp Daddy From Cincinnati" didn't fit.

Anyway, aside from horrible Chappelle Jokes I usually don't care what my name is going to be because like most RPGs its Single Player. Unless were talking about World of Warcraft (please God! No!)

Hm, I use other Net-Nicks of mine normally (no, they don´t involve numbers or multiple words and they don´t make sense or sound vulgar) or I just call the character Miles. For some reason I like the name Miles, don´t know why. But I only rename the main characters, the rest can keep their identities.

i don't know anyone with thosse names their names are ernesto, irvin, sebastian, eliceo, ryjav, erick, david, edgar and a bunch of others whosse names i don't know XD so i use their nicknames

I used to name the characters on 16-bit rpgs like Final Fantasy 3 or Breath of Fire after my friends and pets.

I suppose if I still played rpgs I would keep the defaults now.

i usually keep the games default, so it's easier for me to keep track of things when i'm reading / discussing things online. if i've played the game before though (for instance earthbound) then everything is up for customizing. for instance, "ADMAN used PSI PUSSY ALPHA"

when we play FF games, we like to give the summons creatures really disrespectful names like "Tweety" and "Kitty." i never said i was smart.

I like to stick to the tried and true dnd system of thrwing a bunch of conssonats together with a few vowels to create a wholelly incomprehensible, unpronuncable, and thus truely uniqueand epis name. names like Khalkervick and gwrgryinthine and so forth
