I agree. I have friends who are all spoogey over it, and I asked them to explain it to me. There have been no sufficient explanations.

There are some cool people you can follow. For example I've heard that quite a few game developers use Twitter and they often give some interesting insights into the world of game development etc.
There are also celebrities and crap if you like that sort of thing.

True, but those types don't comprise the majority of users. As far as I can tell it's just randoms deluding themselves into thinking that others care what they're doing.

I tried it and thought it was dull. But then I came across the characters of Peep Show. No idea if it's the real writers or fans posing as them, but I spent a good 10-15 minutes being amused by their banter back and forth.

Jhonen Vasquez and Chris Livingston's twitters are the only ones that mildly interest me. I guess it's more of a fanboy resource than anything else.
