This time, next year, if my life is still such that I would be able to take off for five months, I'm making my attempt at a thru-hike of the Appalachian Trail.

That's around 2200 miles, on foot. It would be a fantastic achievement.

Also I think within the next month or just a bit longer, I'll be moving to North Carolina.

I drive along that trail every time I go to pick up weed. My dealer lives near Bear Mountain.

I walked a stretch of it in WV. It's pretty in WV, at least.

I was laughing at the tourists who hike the trail and then go stay in a really nice hotel, that feels like cheating to me.

It's a trail that goes from Georgia to Maine. Google will most likely yield picture results of 1. scenic Appalachian vistas and 2. bearded dirty men.

Thanks. I think I'm over-estimating myself. I'll really have to push hard to stick to the idea of doing the whole thing. A lot of people drop out along the way, and a lot of douchebags hitchhike past some of it.

I've only been on the trail in small sections here and there, my favorite being the place I've gone every year for a camping trip. That will be in April, this year.

Those are my pictures from last year. I take a few miles down the AT, up a mountain called the Priest, and then I stray from the AT to see Crabtree Falls. This year, I think we'll be going up the Priest, then hike a few more miles across the ridge to a place called Spy Rock with a 360 degree view, and then finally down the Crabtree Falls trail. I don't know if we'll go back up the mountain and down to get back to the car, or if we'll walk the 6 miles on the road to get to the parking lot from the Crabtree Falls lot.
