I'm excited. Back in the day, no other FPS had nearly the amount of crazy shit that RotT had.

Powerups that turned you into a dog? Check. Gun that created a huge, rolling wall of fire? Check. Heating up porridge with a rocket blast? Check. Panoply of James Bond/Wile E. Coyote-esque traps and devices? Check.

But god help them if they try to make it into a serious, realistic sort of game.

I know I used to have this game, but it doesn't look familiar at all. Maybe I only had the shareware.

The screenshot they have is using the High Def pack that was made a few years ago. It's normally all 2D.

Yeah, that's the one. It wasn't as sophisticated as shooting the guns out of their hands, but some guards would get on their knees after being shot a little, or they would just do it spontaneously. Then they would play dead, only to get back up and start shooting you again.

Yeah I loved that game! I liked to get up in their face and shoot them in the head with the pistol. Execution style! :rock

Holy shit, I remember this game. It was fantastic.

A remake would be great, but I also am worried that the crazy humour would be lost.

Oh, 2D FPS, how I loved thee. I used to play them any chance I could, spining around a faux 3d environment, making myself feel sick. Being disgusted by the gruesome violence, yet secretly reveling in it.
