And the season starts with a bang before it even starts with Delonte West pulling a Plaxico

http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=4485441

But even more disturbing about all this, West has been a no-show to the first 2 practices

Cleveland really is cursed

A far cry from the player or the person he appeared to be with St. Joseph's. Hard to believe he came from the same program as Jameer Nelson.

Here's hoping the 76ers avoid having the worst record in the NBA this season. :(

I predict that with the combination of perkins, sheed and garnett, the Celtics will lead the league with technical fouls this seaon.

The celtics shit all over the charlotte bobcats and held them to just 59 points tonight. I like what I'm seeing so far. :)

The new look T-Wolves (7 new players) somehow came back from being down 18 points to the Nets and won 95-93 off a buzzer beater.

1-0 baby! Rambis is taking us to the top!

blind refs have been making bad calls at least 10 times a day that decides the outcome of the games for years so what is the difference? michael jordan and the bulls may have had some help from the refs because jordan was good for the nba and the business but it still doesnt take away the fact he could bust a move and bunch of ankles.

Pentegarn

Bad refs litter all of sports unfortunately. This years baseball postseason, the Big Ten football refs, the NBA, the NFL. It happens.

Not relevant to the season, maybe, but still noteworthy:

Kareem Abdul Jabbar, one of basketball's all-time greatest players, announced Tuesday morning that he has cancer. The sports legend made the public disclosure nearly a year after being diagnosed with chronic myeloid leukemia. "Having lost one of my closest friends to a different, highly aggressive form of leukemia, I knew how serious my diagnosis was," said Abdul-Jabbar, 62. "My own life expectancy became a question mark." Abdul-Jabbar, the NBA's all-time leading scorer, won five championships with the Los Angeles Lakers before retiring in 1989. He was diagnosed with Cml in December 2008 and is being treated with a medicine that targets the abnormal protein that causes his leukemia.

The Sixers will do anything to boost one of the league's (deservedly, mind you) worst average attendance figures.

The sideshow could start as early as next week. :\

I feel sorry for what has become of AI. I remember the Olympics where we had to fight for the bronze medal because the team just didn't seem to care (and they were all afraid of terrorism). But if it weren't for AI we wouldn't have even gotten that. He stepped up and became a leader for that broken team where only AI and Lebron cared for winning.

While I don't like some of what he did, I have a hard time forgetting how hard he worked for team USA

Geggy
Dec 3rd, 2009, 04:37 AM
AI is the bret favre of basketball. I think he joined the sixers because he likes the old-school logo.

Celtics needs a back up point guard because eddie "no-dribble" house is completely unreliable as a ball handler but i'm sure as hell happy they didnt pick up AI. He is marbury in sheep's clothing.

Pentegarn
Dec 3rd, 2009, 10:21 AM
AI will be a cancer anywhere he can't be a starter at. He has made it clear he has no interest in being a 'coming off the bench' player

Geggy
Dec 4th, 2009, 11:34 PM
I think he would be willing to settle as a back up on a contending team like the lakers, cavs, celtics, etc. I could be wrong. Best of luck to him in his old stomping ground.

New jersey finally get their first victory tonight. :rave

Tracy mcgrady has played only 40 minutes in the entire season so far and steve nash just squeaked past him to get the starting nod in the all star game. So in short mcgrady will go as a bench player. Allen iverson has played 19 games and he is the starter. Ridiculous.

Celtics have risen from the dead in game one of 1st round series against miami with rondo leading the way. They were fucking miserable in the last couple of months in the regular season. I went to the celts vs wizards game couple of weeks ago and it was the most goddamn painful game I've witnessed. Hope they will carry over the momentum into the second game without garnett who has been banned for one game.

Well I think the cavs with nice additions of jamison and moon will handle the celtics in six games. But wouldn't be surprised if the celtics pull it off either. If this picture of lebron james (http://athletetattoodatabase.com/img/wiki_up/lebron.jpg) was plastered all over celtics' locker room, it would get them extra fired up.

You're not missing much. This year's playoffs have been a lackluster especially the 2nd round with 3 teams carrying a 3 games to none lead. The magic have been steamrolling throughout the playoffs. The best series so far was the Hawks/Bucks in the 1st round when the Bucks had a 3 games to 2 lead and lost it in the last 2. But its not saying much because the hawks are lacking emotion and unity.

Cavs/celts series is a tight one so far, with both teams trading a blow out game on opponent's home court. In game 3, you could tell lebron james was playing with a lot of anger and urgency. Right now celtics have a 8 point lead with 7 minutes left and I'm not expecting it to last. They've blown double digit leads 17 times this season.

Geggy
May 9th, 2010, 06:30 PM

I agree it was a pretty good season for the nba with the emerging young stars including kevin durant and the numerous heroic last second plays. Believe me I've watched more games this season than anyone I know thanks to working overnight shift at a job where there's cable that includes nbatv.

I think the conference finals will be slightly better regardless who the magic will face. The hawks were undersized against the magic and they had nothing on dwight howard. If the cavs advance, expect Shaq to go all out on dwight as if every game was his last. Kendrick perkins is also a tough match up.

It should be interesting watching lebron guard rondo tonight. I don't think it makes any difference to rondo anyway. Also it should give paul pierce an opportunity to break out of a shooting slump.

Lebron's performance last night was perplexing. Something tells me that he's being mentally shut down. It was also lack of team effort and mike brown did a shitty job of rotating players. If the celtics win the next game, expect him to get canned. Big Z was on a roll with 3 blocks, but was limited to only 14 minutes. Celtics was brilliant last night. Completely the opposite of the way cavs played. I think we've been hoodwinked during the regular season. But the series isn't over yet.
