In celebration of our holiday season kicking off, I went ahead and updated my old article about Christmas Vacation from years ago and put it into the new site template so you guys can finally comment it on here! And when Santa squeezes his fat white ass down that chimney tonight, he's gonna find the jolliest bunch of assholes this side of the nuthouse!

So you actually paid that obscene amount for a measly pair of Moose Mugs? Now THAT must be some quality you are talking about, -RoG-.

blood_panther, you clearly have an awesome grandma.

saturnknight, I've discussed aspects of "A Christmas Story" before, but no, I haven't done an actual article on it. Maybe I will this season though.

Julio, Actually, they were nice enough to send me some Moose Mugs for free so I could see just how nice they really were. One o' the perks of running a web site like this heheh.

Favorite line of the movie has to be, "This'll be the hap-hap-happiest Christmas since Bing Crosby tapped dance with Danny fuckin-K!"

My Grandmother's favorite lines were, "Tis the season to be Merry." "Well that's my name." "No shit?"

Couldn't agree more about the white lights. Why would anyone want plain, boring WHITE Christmas lights? That's the color lights normally are! What's festive about that?

My favorite line is when Clark's dad looks at the unlit lights all over the house and says, sagely "Well Clark, my advice is to take 'em all down and check 'em one-by-one, because if one goes out, then they all go out. If you need my help, I'll be upstairs, asleep."

Rog is right as well about the squirrel scene - Best. Face. Ever.

This movie leaves all the other vacation movies in the dust, except maybe Vegas, which it still beats by a long way.

I've always wanted to say "Burn some dust, eat my rubber." Is Rusty still in the navy?

The lights bit always hits a little too close to home. I've personally replaced around 450 mini lights this year and my grandma decided to get yet another light sculpture even though I'm trying to completely convert us to easier to manage led lights. After completely re-building the motors and light strings in our reindeer, the antlers of one burnt out last night. Not a single bulb mind you, but all 50+ bulbs on the antlers!

Gents when you see a nicely lit house, give the guy who did it some money. Ladies, give him as much sweet lovin' as your body can possibly stand because that poor schmuck has been WORKING HIS ASS OFF for that innocent little display.

P.S. I would make the assumption that women also put up xmas lights, but I know for a fact that there isn't a woman stupid enough to volunteer for that job.

Personal favorite scene of mine is the swat team climbing all over the Griswold house and repelling off the roof. The part where Margo says if you want to come in bust down the door, and the cops burst in is priceless to me.

I would so want me some moose mugs right now. If any of you are in a seriously giving spirit, that's what is on my wish list this year. Until then I'll go have me some good ol nog with my Elvis mug.

My top 5 Christmas movies.

1) A Christmas Story

2) Friday After Next

3) National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation

4) How The Grinch Stole Christmas

5) Jingle All The Way

Chevy Chase isn't funny! I think he's the worst comedian ever!

I also thought that one of the best lines comes from the elderly uncle who makes this pained face after trying to tell Aunt Bethany to say the grace and says to her "The Blessing!" I always thought this moment should have made the list.

Note that this movie includes the only actress to ever work again after playing Audrey Griswold. (I don't know about Vegas Vacation. When the people behind films like Van Wilder: The Rise of Taj, Senior Trip, and Last Resort refuse to have their name associated with something, its a no-brainer were dealing with weapons-grade horseshit.)

While Chevy Chase's merits as a comedic actor are debatable, one thing that seems more or less certain is that he is (or at least was) a colossal prick. While reading about the history of SNL it seemed that every former cast member and host was unanimous in their description of Chase as obnoxious, egocentric, and cruel (Which may explain why recently he was so awesome as a billionaire super-villain on Chuck).
