Why are my program files permanently hidden? I thought I was the administrator.

Can you go Control Panel -> Folder Options to reveal hidden files/folders like in XP?

I did that, but this is apparently not bound by those rules.

Sure you are logged in as admin?

I am the only admin.

Except for the damned SYSTEM account and et cetera.

You might need to lower your computers vitality first to claim dominance. I suggest Articuno....but seriously...is it Vista?

Windows bloody 7. It's weird, because I did everything that I did when I installed it on my laptop, but it's not working. Ugh. I'll probably just roll Windows XP onto it soon if it doesn't stop being a bitch. But I don't use it for anything other than games. My laptops the workhorse when it comes to everything else.

Some googling seemed to indicate the presence of a "hidden" Admin account within Windows 7, but I'm not 100% sure what they mean.

Well, I know there are other "accounts", like the SYSTEM account which runs all sorts of necessary processes and things and I remember hearing of another such account, but I think it's all unnecessary. Then again, I don't design operating systems and they probably did it in such a ham-handed way for a reason. Like laziness.

Anyways, I'll try that out, Boogie. I hope it'll work.

Hopefully this will be of benefit to anyone installing Windows from scratch. Thanks again, though, Dr.
