The recolor. It hurts my eyes. I hates it.
The garish colors probably weren't intentional, but they fit the story perfectly.

That is spooky, I just bought the recolor hardcover yesterday. My old copy got lost in a fire some years back and I never got around to picking it up again.

You know what's funny is that my big brother often interpret the ending as Batman choking the Joker

Glad to here its back in print. It was out of print way to long even if its isn't the greatest Batman story ever written.

I read an old copy of this way back when. I just thought it was okay, then I found out on the internet that it was suppose to be some kinda big deal.

Alan Moore has commented that its certainly not his best work, but you got love Brian Bollands artwork huge fan of his from way back when he did Judge Dredd. I still want that crazy ass picture of the joker as a tattoo have done for about 10 years.

I borrowed this from a friend and had really high hopes for it, but really I did not find it special.

I agree. It is a decent story, but it is definitely overrated. It still stands proudly on my shelf though.

I thought it was pretty good in how it was depicted actually. The Joker trying to drive Gordon mad was an interesting twist.... while some parts fell flat, I've got to say it was pretty good for when it was originally done. In the "Hush Returns" comics it covers Joker's origins once more and it's the same story. but I do agree there are better Batman and Joker stories out there
