View Full Version : I-Mockery Looking For "Weeklies" Volunteers!
Mockery
Nov 3rd, 2010, 06:11 PM
Since having volunteers contribute to our Weeklies ( http://www.i-mockery.com/weeklies (http://www.i-mockery.com/forum/../weeklies) ) section during Halloween worked out so well, we've decided to keep it going. Once again, we're looking to bring in some volunteers to help out with our weekly reviews of movies, games, comics and albums. With Halloween out of the way, they no longer need to be tied in with horror, so you can write about anything you like (at least until December, when we'll try to cater everything to the holidays).
As always, you'll get to see your work featured on the homepage of I-Mockery and receive feedback from bajillions (ie: tens) of fans! Weeklies are usually 3 - 6 paragraphs in length and shouldn't take you too long to write, so once assigned, we'd expect you to be able to turn one in within 48 hours or so. If you're interested, please reply to this thread (no PMs please) and we'll be in touch real soon. Please mention what categories you would like to write in most (video games, movies, comics, music).
Thanks to all of you who offer to help out! :picklehat

I've got a bunch of stupid movies I can review. I just saw one that was like Mary Poppins, except that Mary Poppins was a serial killer who offed Patrick Swayze with an iron to the skull.

I did an album review intending it to be a weekly, but I wound up doing it in Albums that Sucked format in the hopes you guys might still like it. PM me if you are interested.
And happy holidays.

Is it a holiday album or something that would need to wait 'til after the holidays?
Jaimas
Dec 11th, 2010, 06:40 PM
There's two parts. The first one is not quite holiday related, though I first encountered it when my Aunt gave it to my Uncle for Christmas. The second one most assuredly IS holiday-related, and is the sequel to the aforementioned album.
I got a review of both back-to-back.
It's a double-dose of raw insanity distilled onto LP.

Alright, well it sounds like nobody has a winter or holiday themed comic they want to review, so does anybody have a regular comic they'd like to cover for this coming week?

Sadly all of my funnier reads (Archie vs. Dr. Beelzebub, among others) I already sent to Protoclown as Protocomix fodder. :(

I am tapped out on comics, unless you count Twister Toyfare Theater best of volumes 1-10 or the top 20 TTF comics compilation. If you count those, I have 11 more comic book reviews in me

Not familiar with those Pentegarn, but you're welcome to just review one of the volumes as I believe other people have reviewed collected volumes of comics in the past in our Weeklies section. http://www.i-mockery.com/weeklies

The weird thing is, when I was doing background research for the movie I just reviewed, I stumbled across a Marvel adaptation of it.
