YO HO HO HO! WELCOME TO...
http://www.i-mockery.com/forum/secret-santa/secret-santa2010.gif
OFFICIAL SIGN UP THREAD

It's Christmas time again and that means one thing: reindeer burgers for everyone! Along with that, it's also time for I-Mockery's annual Christmas Secret Santa event! Every year, registered users from the forum community come together to share in the holiday commercialism by buying and sending each other gifts that range from hilarious to just plain awesome. It's tradition, so whether you're a new member or an old one, if you think you wanna join in the fun, be sure to reply to this thread. 10,000 Volt Ghost is running the event this year, so be sure to read the important rules he's posted below:

10,000 Volt Ghost
Nov 9th, 2010, 04:01 PM
How it works:

You sign up in this thread by stating that you want to join. The last day to sign up is November 24th. Send 10,000 Volt Ghost (http://www.i-mockery.com/forum/private.php?do=newpm&u=7324) a private message with your full mailing address, real name and your forum name/alias. On November 25th, you will receive a PM with the name and address of the person you will be sending your gift to. At this point, you send out your gift before December 5th and get ready to receive a gift of your own! Upon receiving your gift, you must post pictures in this thread to show everyone what you got! It’s not mandatory, but many participants in the past have made a little story out of enjoying their gift(s), so do that if you wanna have extra fun! But at the very least, you need to post photos of what you received. Everyone needs to get pictures of the gifts they received posted by December 22nd.

Everyone has plenty of time to do all of that, so do it!

Special note for those of you who live outside of North America:

You’re more than welcome to participate, but pay special attention to the “how people will be split up” section below.

Rules and Guidelines:
This whole thing is for fun, but there has to be some assurance that everyone will keep up their end of the bargain, so failure to follow the rules and instructions will result in a permanent ban from the forums. Plus, we know Santa pretty well, and he’s assured us that messing up in any way will result in a nice big chunk of coal being rammed up your rectum! :D

Here are some general rules and guidelines everybody should follow:
Spend somewhere between 15-25 bucks (USD) on your gift. This amount does NOT include shipping costs. No one likes a cheapskate, so if this is too much money for you, get a job and join next year instead! Don’t go overboard and get something expensive, but don’t cheap out either. If you want to spend more than 25 bucks, you can, but please understand that you most likely won't receive something of equal monetary value. Then again, that's not what this is all about, so that shouldn't matter to you anyway, Scrooge!
Obey all deadlines. Screwing someone over, especially at Christmas, is a guaranteed ticket to hell! Let’s see if an eternity of torture will help you be punctual!
Before signing up, make sure you have a working camera. If you can’t upload pictures to your computer directly, there are other options such as getting your film developed and put on a CD. Uploading pictures of your gifts is just as important to our Secret Santa event as sending some gifts out is. Remember, if you don't have a camera of your own, your cellphone probably has a working camera and/or you can also buy disposable digital cameras too.
MAKE SURE YOUR ADDRESS IS UP TO DATE AND YOU WILL NOT HAVE ANY TROUBLE RECEIVING PACKAGES! It’s not hard to find your current address, so don’t fuck it up!
Don’t be cheap and make something. If you have to do that, keep the minimum spending amount in mind and please consider sending other purchased stuff along with your creation as well. It's fine to make something in addition to purchasing gifts for your recipient, just try not to only make stuff as it's hard to put a monetary value on that sort of thing
Your mailing address CANNOT be a P.O. Box. No gifts will be sent to P.O. boxes nor will anyone with a P.O box as a mailing address be allowed to participate in the Secret Santa event.
Again If you fail to uphold your end of the deal, you will be permanently banned from the forums. So please, don't be a dick. We want this event to be fun for everybody.
YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO PURCHASE GIFTS FROM DOLLAR STORES. We've had too many people get screwed over by cheap gifts at 99cent / dollar general stores, so please do not purchase gifts from them.IF YOU’RE A NEW MEMBER(Registered AND active less than a year)

In an effort to cut down on people who might sign-up just to get free shit, new users need to take the following steps to be eligible to join in the fun:

1. Provide a picture of themselves holding up a hand-written sign that says both "I-MOCKERY SECRET SANTA 2010!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" along with their message forum name/name in plain view.

2. Post this picture in this thread for all to see.

3. PM 10,000 Volt Ghost (http://www.i-mockery.com/forum/private.php?do=newpm&u=7324), informing him that you are a new member who wants to participate in the secret Santa event. He will then send you a letter with a mailing address.

4. Send a test letter to the mailing address that you were provided with by 10,000 Volt Ghost. The letter needs to include your full name, return mailing address and your name here on the I-Mockery forums.

5. To ensure that you’re eligible to participate, do all of that as quickly as possible!

These steps are necessary to verify that you have a working camera and the motivation to get your ass to a post office.

DEADLINES!!!!

-The last day to SIGN UP is November 24th, TWO WEEKS FROM TOMORROW (watch this thread because if we have an uneven number, we might accept more)

-The last day for SENDING your gifts out is December 5th

-The last day for POSTING PICTURES of the gifts you receive is December 22nd

MAILING YOUR PACKAGE:

-You MUST send out your gifts by priority or express shipping methods to ensure that everyone receives their gifts in a timely fashion. Someone will be doing this for you, so please do it for someone else.

-You MUST purchase a tracking number for your package so that you can keep track of it if there are any delays.

-Do NOT send a PM or email to the person who you are sending a gift to in an attempt to let them know that you're their Secret Santa. It's called "Secret" Santa for a reason, people. Half of the fun is people being surprised when they learn who their Secret Santa is!

RECEIVING YOUR PACKAGE:

-Post pictures of all the gifts you receive no later than December 22nd. If you want to be funny with it and make a video or pictorial story or something, that’s great, but just make sure you post it all by the 22nd.

-Take pictures of ALL of your gifts. Half of the fun of this event is seeing recipients enjoying their gifts.

-If you don’t have your package and it’s getting close to the deadline for postings pictures, send a PM to 10,000 Volt Ghost so he can see what the delay is.

HOW PEOPLE WILL BE SPLIT UP:

Everyone who participates will be paired randomly with someone to send their gift to, but if certain conditions are met, some switches might have to be made:

Because this event attracts people from all over the world, special attention will be paid to making sure people won’t have to spend too much on shipping. This doesn’t mean that you’re guaranteed to get someone from the same country as you, but if there are only a couple participants from your part of the world, it’s a possibility. Either way, we will not tolerate complaints from people who refuse to mail packages outside of their country. If you have a problem with this, you shouldn't sign up because there's always a chance you will have to pay a little extra to ship your package out. This season is about giving, so you shouldn't be picky about little things like shipping fees.

Can't really speak for everyone but I'm sure others would be understanding to. As long as a package did arrive sometime relatively soon. Maybe if you suspect this situation applies to you, you muggy be able to supply a taking number our something. IDK. :\

Trinkets are what you pillage after the end of the second Opium Wars, and then bring back and keep in your family for a few generations, before getting them priced on Antiques Roadshow in hope of paying for your new teeth,

I would take expensive trinkets (£500-£600).

Because no one wants to be the next Microshock.

I have never participated in one of these, nor had I ever followed any of the threads. This Microshock character piqued my interest, so I spent a while checking out his "glorious" history.

I mean good goddamn.

It's almost enough to turn a newbie off to the whole thing. The fact he's not participating is the only thing that kept me from running to the hills and taking my (hopefully) awesome gift ideas with me. Nevertheless, I am really looking forward to this.

If I recall I got some candy a swear button a simpsons magnet and maybe some other small things last time I was in this.

SAMfucious

It's no biggie, because literally everyone who tries to spell my name does this, but it's Samfucius (or SAMfucius, if you like. I sure do). But seriously, everyone adds the unnecessary O. I even did it when I first thought of the name, but it didn't look right, so I looked up Confucius and learned the correct spelling, which is not at all obvious.

And hey, at least I didn't have to hear you try to say it out loud. When people try to say that during a game over a headset, I always get 'Sam-fush-us' or my personal favorite (which happens a LOT), 'Sam-Fuck-You-I-Us', sometimes shortened to 'Sam-Fuck-Us'.

But it's a pet peeve, and if you could change that, I would be very grateful.

Um.... I'm pretty sure you're supposed to send the letter to 10k Volt Ghost... That's what I did, and it seemed to work.

Officially feels befuddled.

The letter needs to include your full name, return mailing address and your name here on the I-Mockery forums."

Ok, it says send you a letter with a mailing address. ..... He said to me.. "I guess just send me your info"... Being how work and dealing with a family member that is having a crisis is making me scatterbrains when I saw the word letter, I think snail mail. So, like a dummy I give him my mailing address vs my e-mail.

Ok, I am totally feel dumb. :S:lol

It's all good. Happens to the best of us.

Edit: That being said, I think you just failed the first trial of the secret santa: understanding everything implicitly the first time with no explanation. You are now banished.

Doubleedit: I just reread what you wrote, and I think you still are a little confused. The idea here is that you pm him with your full name and address, and he pm's you back with his snail mail address. You then send him a snail mail letter to prove you are actually willing to mail things, and that your address is correct. When he gets it, your name goes on the participants list. Hope that helps.

Joking? On this forum? :) Yeah, I was just being a righteous sarcastic ham. :yum

I did goof up because I should of sent my e-mail addy not my actually mailing addy and perhaps he was just waiting for me to catch my mistake because he didn't correct me.

Note: This is no ordinary Holiday mix, it has holiday music from Ren & Stimpy, Ween, and Wesley Willis just to name a few.

Onto the unwrapped gift awesomeness

Machete: Feliz Navidad, Conchita! With Knives, you know! Santa brings you gifts, but I say there mine.

... All of a sudden a space-time anomaly occurs, and a message comes forth from a vortex along with a waft of zesty citrus.

http://img543.imageshack.us/img543/7863/lettertome.jpg

The message provided relief that there were presents instead of the danger the having something in common with an overemotional Christian Slater movie. Replicant donned her thinking took to figure out how to deal with a more pressing issued named El Machete.

http://img207.imageshack.us/img207/5771/thinkingtook.jpg

Perhaps, moustache battle?

http://img12.imageshack.us/img12/4381/bigmoustache.png

For the meantime, Replicant is able to ward off the deathly machismo of El Machete.

Finding a corner of safety, Replicant sat down her christmas gifts. Ready to open them up.

Robots! Robots! Robots!

Before the gifts could be unwrapped, El Machete arrives to snatch the Loot.
But Replicant managed to conjure up a BFG (let's just pretend, shall we) to take El Machete to task.

http://img413.imageshack.us/img413/8690/machetereturns.jpg
...
"El Machete, I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhauser gate. All those moments will be lost in time... like tears in rain...

Time to die."

So there I was minding my own business WHEN SUDDENLY!
A package arrived and was thrust upon me.

http://i1095.photobucket.com/albums/i468/bacchus7160/SDC10833.jpg
Whatever could it be?

http://i1095.photobucket.com/albums/i468/bacchus7160/SDC10834.jpg
Egads! A box! A festive box wrapped by a faceless corporate automaton. Season's Greetings!

http://i1095.photobucket.com/albums/i468/bacchus7160/SDC10838.jpg
I seized my blade and momentarily gave in to the craven bloodlust which plagues my people!

http://i1095.photobucket.com/albums/i468/bacchus7160/SDC10839.jpg
Great Gadzooks and Festive Fooks! Could it be!? Great Jesus Above could it really be so!?

http://i1095.photobucket.com/albums/i468/bacchus7160/SDC10840.jpg
Paper! Yes! Finally, I am among the beautiful, shiny people who possess and overabundance of paper goods! No more napkins for me, I say! I'll scribble my random thoughts on paper, like an Egyptian Scribe no less!

http://i1095.photobucket.com/albums/i468/bacchus7160/SDC10841.jpg
My Stars and Garters... IT'S GREAT DARK C'THULU! ZOMGWTFBBQAPB! I cannot begin to describe to you what horrors and ecstasies assailed my mind at that moment. Truly, my mind strayed from this mortal plane and hung in the sygian gulfs of midnight blackness, where the spheres of existence shrieked a tune of discordance and madness. Huzzah!

http://i1095.photobucket.com/albums/i468/bacchus7160/SDC10842.jpg
I beseech thee, O Dark One! What is thy bidding? I seek a boon most dire!

http://i1095.photobucket.com/albums/i468/bacchus7160/SDC10843.jpg
Later, we swapped stories over a smoke. Shortly after this picture was taken, we had burritos - burritos of MADNESS!

My heartfelt thanks to Nick! What an amazing gift! I was sad you didn't include an handwritten note, but hey, whattyagonnado, eh? Merry Christmas to all! Cthulhu fhtagn!

So I come home and what do I find?

Besides my usual shabby living conditions i mean...

A box from none other than the Master of Ceremonies, 10k himself!

http://i132.photobucket.com/albums/q1/Pentegarn/Picture0010.jpg

I mull over what these could be (note the vacant expression of attempted thought)

http://i132.photobucket.com/albums/q1/Pentegarn/Picture0015.jpg

A BAG OF FAT GUY CHOW[TM]! I Didn't even know Barnes and Noble sold Fat Guy Chow[tm]. And inside the bag.....

http://i132.photobucket.com/albums/q1/Pentegarn/Picture0014.jpg

Butterfingers! And one solitary Baby Ruth. I thought this was odd, but then I remembered something

http://i132.photobucket.com/albums/q1/Pentegarn/index-3.jpg

Sloth likes Ruth! Ruth! Ruth! Baby! Ruth! He must have gotten them all but one before 10K could select the Fat Guy Chow[tm]

But wait, there's more!

http://i132.photobucket.com/albums/q1/Pentegarn/Picture0012.jpg

It's-a me! On DVD! That-a rhymes-a!

http://i132.photobucket.com/albums/q1/Pentegarn/Picture0011.jpg

I will give it to 10k, he pays attention to my posting habits (especially b-day ones) and knows I likes me some Garfield cartoons!

But then I opened this last one, and boy oh boy, was it a home run!

http://i132.photobucket.com/albums/q1/Pentegarn/Picture0013.jpg

The Good the Bad and the Munchkin! I love the Munchkin games and i will play this with my game nerd friends very soon!

Awesome gift-givery 10k! Merry X-mas!
