As for Apple, they went from being a respectable and plucky competitor with a lot of great ideas to a corporate giant that shills overpriced and underpowered crap that people buy simply because of its looks. The company has caused me to hate people about 10% more than I otherwise would have, and I hated Jobs's never-ending supply of black turtlenecks.
