I'm not big on haw juice. I just like to eat the haws straight from the barrel.

I totes read about this! There was a wonderful article on it back in 2009 over here (http://x-entertainment.com/updates/2009/09/24/blood-bag-the-candy/), and then some new variations were discussed here! (http://x-entertainment.com/updates/2011/10/07/the-friday-fiver-part-3/)

I think I even remember seeing this when I was in Junior High; it was basically corn syrup and food coloring.

I used to always read x-entertainment when working at dell. I read pretty much every article from the beginning of the site to that point in time. Several times I got talked to because people were thinking it was a porn site. I had to tell them that I was just bored and it was a site for people stuck in the 80's.

It's probably my favorite site for articles on nostalgia, cool toys, movies, and Halloween stuff.

The creator/owner guy is also huge on Christmas and awesome packaging for everything from toys to junk food, which I can definitely relate to.

Yeah, I purposefully don't read it right now so that when I do get back to an office job in the future, I have something to pass the time doing. I have about 5 years to catch up on now.

This thread was the first time that I've encountered these courageous blood bags, and today I saw two kids in the street sucking on them.

It's weird when that happens.

Oh man, is it ever. Same thing happened to me the other day, only with a relatively obscure 80s toy. I'd just read an article about them, and my buddy was mistaking them for some sort of Garbage Pail Kids tie-in. At least it's not somehow disconcerting, like deja vu.

I hope this food isn't made in china. Chinese food is great but food from china = bad. Just google "exploding watermelons".

I'm sure all the fake blood 'candy' is produced locally by happily working/paid Americans at the local edible fake blood factory, sure.
