I remember the ladder theory.

Personally, I accept it.

Just one more thing I can be the antagonist on.

If you want, I can help you. Seeing how it's full of holes as a theory, I mean. From first glance, I can see a number of psychological neuroses or fixations which could lead a man or woman to having intercourse or even a stable relationship with someone not very high on their ladder (passive agressive manifestation, masochistim etc). So psychological and/or even physiological health obviously is an unlisted issue which you could exploit to an unlimited length (by showing how one's chemical state is never normalised so how can a generic mode of psychological normality even be employed so on so forth)

but if you're doing this because of some romantic sentiment you may have, then I'm not sure I care to help.

Hidden Variables and Sanity
Note that all known hidden variables are indicative of an altered consciousness of some kind. At the 'limit of sanity' the Classical ladder's rating system still applies. So I don't feel that these change the core theory, but explain times when the theory is not able to be applied because your perception is wrong.

There you are, good sir. >:

That's the philosophical equivalent of training wheels. Let's tack these things on so no matter how shaky the thing is it can't fall over. >:

Yea, I re-read it. :/ It really can't be disproven because its too general and has too many clarifiers. They might as well just say that girls who wont fuck you wont fuck you unless they're drunk.

Ladder theory is true, but nothing magical or formula-esque. Basically the harder people try to make something all-encompassing all they do is make that idea less and less applicable to real life.

Anyone who continues pining over a girl that obviously has no interest in them is a moron anyway.

The ladder theory is the guy version of "personality quizzes". It something you should know about yourself and your relationships with people already.

I think the ladder theory is a justification for the guys who just don't know how to get what they want. They feel better about themselves if they can chalk it up to psychology instead of their own ineptitude.
