I ordered the first season of South Park the other day, and wondered if there was any way to download the commentary tracks. The only way to get the CDs is to order from Comedy Central, but they only ship within the US, so I'm fucked.

I ordered mine a long time ago, but they ran out of CDs. I'm not sure if they ran out of them before or after I ordered :(

Crap. What's really weird is that it seems noone has mp3 encoded the tracks. Yeah, it's five CDs, but no hits at kazaa is still unusual.

Maybe Trey and Matt should put them on a website or such.

Well, first off. Why the fuck is the commentary not on the DVDs like they should be? Instead you have to get the commentary as a special gift (which they apparently don't even fucking have). So you get totally screwed. Was it some sort of legal thing, or does CC just love being assholes?

And seriously, a letter of complaint holds a lot of power behind it, if written properly. I'm still planning on writing Nintendo about their fucking sale tactics. I would suggest that those who are unable to get the commentary for these DVDs write to those responsible and share your distaste of the situation.

Trey and Matt used quite a bit of language on the tracks, which would make the set difficult to sell to 13-year-olds (who have no business seeing it anyway, imo).

Another major problem was that they kept dissing the Warner movie Contact, and Warner wouldn't release the track unless their viewpoints on this movie were withdrawn. Parker & Stone refused, and we are fucked.

Warner are asses.

Hell, it's not Warner's fault. It's Trey, Matt, and CC's fault. They could have just bleeped out the name of the company, and we'd still know who they were talking about, but there'd be no problems.

This is the first time I've ever heard of audio commentary coming on a separate CD. It's pure bullshit. What are you supposed to do? Time it right and mute your TV?

Actually, it is Warner's fault. They have the distribution rights, and it was their call to remove it. I hear another story about Warner's gestapos butchering another release every week.

I've actually got a lot against the company. Did you know that Warner executives have cancelled a number of productions because main characters were black? Or that they actually have McDonalds/toy company representatives on initial meetings to form concepts for comic book licenses? Jon Peters even tries to make Superman lose his powers in the next movie so they can sell Supermanmobile toys. Also, gay robots and Matrix trenchcoats instead of blue and red spandex. They have no idea how to treat a license, and then the director has to take the fall when a move bombs. Warner are asses.

Yes.

Still, it wouldn't have killed them to just bleep out the Warner references. You'd still know who they were talking about, and you'd have your commentary right now.

Yeah, that would probably have been the best solution. That's what Disney did with the Dogma DVD (Kevin Smith called Linda Florentino (sp?) a bitch), and it worked out fine.
