Taking this off my favorites, everyone here is retarded now. Yes, I account for one of them, obviously. But there was a time when I was only one of the few (At the time I would say it was only Lenore, BlackFlag, Bodlet and a few of the ravers who drifted outside of thier board) and this place had very excellent conversation for me to eyeball over and add a useless post or two myself. I'd get good, well-written replies from the other posters about how crappy they were, and it was quite amusing. But now, there are too many of me. So it's quite pointless to play inferior now, when you can even consider yourself superior in a muck of drivel and caps lock.

I never did much like the site myself, the article or two by some of the resident posters were nice. And even they've drifted away, and you can't really blame them. I don't care too much for RoG's work, I'm not too into the whole let's review a movie for an easy article and let's make a contest for an easy article and here's a post about our new sponsor so you can read our easy articles. And, all the new posters seem to be of that audience. When I came here, it was off Google and never for the site. I just stayed because I thought it was an interesting community. I've talked to alot of cool people here outside of the board, and they probably know who they are. They've been really helpful on stupid things in my life, and provided some interesting conversation.

Some of you are okay, some of you are just stupid fucks who take other people on the board's personality in order to fit in and then push your stupid un-funny (it's supposed to be, I guess. But it isn't, trust me) shit, some of you are too stupid to even put in a category, and some of you are awsome. They're fleeting. Maybe I should add some fucktards or useless supposed to be funny but only funny (it's not) because it isn't type of things in here. Just to keep your attention, ofcourse. But I don't care anymore. I don't know why I'm even bothering to write any of this, because I doubt any of you do either.

In all reality, wasnt the site always useless? Befor ,you, blackflag, and me used to start up conversations on here just to piss people off. I guess those days are over, as some of us finally got lives. (work, gf's, bf's, ect...) Yes, I will admit that the old board was a bit more entertaining, well, Alot more, when we didnt have advertisers, and random acts of horse-shit that are supposed to make us laugh. This board used to be about just fucking around and makeing useless comments, and becoming someone that we were not. Over time, people started to notice, and although they would come, and go, and come again, and go again, IT used to be a place to just say 'fuck it' and forget for awhile what the outside world was doing.
Now, There's So many people on this board that unless you have a photographic mind, your not going to remember them all. And why is this? Probally because Rog advertises, Maybe its so we dont have to contribute money we were asked too to keep the board alive, or maybe its because he's sick of not makeing any money, but for any reason, the stickers, the shirts, the I-mock club packs, ect.. Really have No meaning, unless you've been here for along time, or Just wanna look cool in front of your friends. In any case, They've made this site into a walking bill-board, and No wonder nobody off the old board is here anymore, their probally sick of the 50 new assholes we get every day, while they stumble on this site, looking for their favorite beastiality porn.
So, makeing my conclusion (sorry its so long) I'm with Noob on this one. Yes, I will make my random post every so often as to when im bored (basically what I do now) but the administrators need a good kick in the ass, and relize just what their doing. Tearing apart something that used to meen alot to some really cool people.

I have always loved the site and the message board. The old one may have been slightly funnier, but that was only to the elitist morons who were the "in" crowd, who are now pissed that they can't be cooler then everyone else on a messaage board. I don't read this board because I like it anymore. I read it because it something to do and it's literally addicting.

I'll re-iterate for the millionith time that there needs to be some sort of quality control filter on the board. I again recommend we ban people. But whatever, that's not going to happen, even though I don't understand why.

As for the site itself, I joined 'back in the day' when it was an entirely different beast. Before it was mockery, now it's 'wacky' nostalgia. So, yeah, I don't get how or why that happened, but I have no say in the matter and Roger's always going to run the site however he alone sees fit. Which I guess is admirable in itself, even if it's resulted in turning this into more of a giant blog than a humor site.

Somethingawful is a lot more like what this site used to be, and their forums are a lot more up my alley. I only wish I'd gone that route instead of this from day one, but I'm here now. Whether I stay or go is largely dependant on whether or not I have anything else to do.

I remain thankful for the friends I've met and made here.

There are a lot of people around here who suck and I'd be happy to ban, but I'm also going to respect the way Roger wants to run the boards. So we only ban people who do certain shit, like post porn or try to flood the front page of General Blabber with entirely useless threads, or just generally try to fuck things up for everyone else.

We never banned people for other reasons back on the old boards that everyone seems to think were so much greater, so I don't think it has anything to do with what that administrators are or aren't doing. In fact, back on the old boards for the longest time Rog was the ONLY administrator.

That's why there's plenty of nostalgic stuff, it's always been an interest of mine. Just as video games have, and making comic books (a la pickleman, pixel pals, etc), and making flash games and parodies.

I'm not like other sites because my interests are far too broad for me to be able to tolerate staying within one niche forever. That's why I don't update the old music mockery sites or anything anymore. Believe me, I had a great fucking time making them... Winky, Anti-Rave, Metal Mockery, etc - they all came out far better than I could have imagined and the reactions from angry people were superb. But there comes a time where you feel like you're just beating a dead horse, and while some people choose to go on... I stop working on those sites and let them just stay online so people can see them as they were in their prime.

I'm going to keep adding new things to I-Mockery, new sections, new types of pieces... I want variety. It's continuing to do whatever I'm interested in that has kept me working on this site all these years. I know people want me to do another "Things That Must Be Destroyed" and this and that... but I don't do those things unless I feel like it. I'm not gonna force that shit, because it's forced humor that is uninteresting to read. If I'm having a good time working on something, I generally feel confident that it's going to come out pretty funny.

A lot more than just a "nostalgia blog"... take a look around. It's just a large humor site, plain and simple. Perhaps someday I'll be able to settle down into a single niche that I want to work on forever... but for now, I'm just going to keep doing what comes natural to me and what interests me. That's what's worked for I-Mockery since the beginning, and should that disappoint some people... well there's always other sites out there for you to enjoy. It's free entertainment and nobody's forcing anybody to stay here.

Honestly, I don't think these boards were as fun as they used to be in june, when i joined. I really only joined because i hated the hulk alot and everyone on here said it was so good. Then, however, I got hopelessly addicted like chojin and came to enjoy the elevated level of humor on this site and moreover on these boards. Now theres all these people who ruin downright hilarious threads. But thats the mods job to handle that and I dont question anything they do.

Im going to miss noob because he was one of those people who provided that humor that was really out of my grasp at times but still made me laugh, just like Professor Cool and Zero Signal

havent popped a 'plur' pill in over a year now, So I'd say im pretty sober. I'm agreeing with noob because over the past few months the board has become more obnoxious. Especially with all the Porn ad's and 'HOW TO MAKE MORE MONEY, CLICK ON MY LINK' We never had that on the old board, and being someone who has been here Far longer than most, and has gotten more grief than most, I belive I do have a right to voice my opioion, especially when it concerns a friend who I met on this board.

Now most of you will probally say, o0o0o0o, you met them on the board, go find some real friends. We'll I met chojin on the board and we met, exchange b-day, christmas presents, and still talk, and blackflag Always wishes me a happy birthday, and still feels bad when he missed it. And Noob has helped me out through many occasions of bad boyfriends, and stupid people. I consider them friends.

What I meant by the administrators need a good kick in the ass, was because if you havent noticed, People who started on this board are dissapearing slowly, People that we all once knew. What about the nyc trip, (that I missed, sorry.) But from what I know half those people are gone now, because of all the bullshit with this site. Don't get me wrong, Yes, it is a public board, maybe a little too public, when you can go on YAHOO, and type in "IMOCKERY" and the first thing that comes up is this site.

And Rog, I wasnt bashing your creative attempts at makeing things 'exciting' around here, and working your little heart out to things that interest you and posteing them, because this is YOUR site, But to many, weither they want to admit or not, It seems that everyone else is over-running it with their lame attempts to make you notice them, And that is over-whelming all in itself.

You used to be able to come on this board and laugh your ass off for hours, of course it used to be all towards me, (boy, do I love carni), but now its just one post after another of useless shit that gets thrown down in page 3, because nobody wants to bother with the same shit we once all used to laugh about and got over.

Chojin puts this board as 'adicting', but once you get off the computer it no longer appeals to anyone that doenst sit there and jerk off to the pictures section. It was once 'smart Mocking' Now its 'show me your boobs' over and over and over again. Maybe im wrong, but there's plenty of other sites out there to see someones boobs.

I guess Noob's post just really got to me, we all had our characters, and now everyone is just trying to be liked, which was never what this board seemed to ever be about. Hell Ive seen best friends go at each other because of some lame comment.

Im happy to see this site become more known, but I miss the 'old' people it once produced.

I will miss parts of Noob, but at times, he was just a dipshit who did nothin but make terrible threads called something like "I'm sick" or something completly stupid like that. I know a lot of people hate me here, and wish I was gone forever, but it IS a message board where people post their oponions. Not where people try to post funny pictures and do OUTRAGIOUS things on the internet.

I came to i-mockery a little bit after christmas of last year, and I thought it was THE best site on the internet. And it still is my favorite site. But I remember it a lot more fun when I didn't know the forum users. I laughed more then I ever did in my entire life at times before I joined the forums. I don't regret it because I met a plethore of really cool people here, but it seemed that I had one good month and BAM! So many stupid people came here.

I don't know what I'm saying, but I guess I agree with both here, the administrators and the members. :/

I'm not going to take sides on this, 'cause it's not my place to compare the old boards to the new boards. But you really can't tell the old members to quit just because they're pissed at the way the new boards are going. The main reason people come to these boards are to read comments from the old members(chojin, rongi, whoreable, carnivore, ect.). They're usually the only ones who contribute anything to the board. If they leave the boards will go on a down-hill spiral. And it makes sense for them to want the boards the way they used to be. There were alot less people and the community seemed more like a family type thing where you always had people to talk to about stuff you couldn't talk to other people about. Whereas, on the new boards it seems that there are so many new people joining everyday that the boards are tearing part and becoming more of a 'Lets fuck up everybody's thread' type thing. And you can't hold important conversatioin without somebody trying to add an unfunny joke in.

But on the other side people can't be pissed because the boards aren't a secret club anymore. RoG works hard to make his site viewable to a variety of audience, and in return a variety of people will show up. And though some of them won't be worth shit, it's part of having a growing community. And if RoG didn't advertise with other sites and such the site/forums might not even be here.

So... I don't know who's right or who's wrong in this situation. Just wanted to post my two cents. :/

Sigh, since I have only been visiting this site for a few years I guess I woulden't know when it was "better." But it seems to me that the comedy is just getting better. I never found the site itself as "blog-like" where a bunch of different people post whatever's on their chest for the world to see (or ignore). I see it as entertainment. Like a variety magazine complete with article's, activities, and puzzles. It is plain to see that the intentions of the site isn't to make controversey, or to have some sort of fame for one main feature from which to milk- but to entertain the visitors. And catering to just one narrow type of audiance doesn't really help with progress. Nor does staying with one main point of focus. Sure, some of the stuff doesn't rub my rhubarb, but because of the mass amounts of content I can just look elsewhere.

As for the problems with the retro-obsession: I like to hear about all the vintage reminicence from a slightly older perspective, they remember it alot better than I do. That is as long as it doesn't get outta hand and becomes just a nostalgia site. But I am sure this was already well established.
As for the boards... it is completely removed as far as I am concerned. Something that the quality is directly effected by the user can go either ways. Although, we as users can attempt to take care of that ourselves.

But something bothered me about what Lenore said... Porn ads? I haven't seen any myself but... that was another thing I liked was how this site kept its dignaty by not traveling down that road. I sure hope she was seeing things.

Edit: Lenore has a bad case of the "Nasty Addituditus" from where I am standing.

Uh, please tell me where these porn ads are, Lenor. I've never had porn ads on my site, and it's well known that I'm quite against making money that way. I work a shitty-assed full-time job when I could put a few porn ads on this site and make more money than I do at said job. But I choose not to. This site is extremely tame when it comes to advertising, and that's simply because I want people to enjoy it rather than feel like they have to work their way through a million ads just to see some content.

And in regards to people vanishing from the boards, nobody is going to stick around forever. There is more to life than the internet - believe it or not. I'll still talk to plenty of people who've been around forever, and there IS going to be a big mock-meet in 2004 - possibly as early as February or March. I was just talkin to Spadowsky and Carnivore about it a little while ago. For those who are interested, we're going to rent a beach house in Nags Head, North Carolina and have a dandy ol' peachy keen time.

The quality of writing on the site has drastically improved for the worse, both in good and bad ways. In some ways I blame myself, but more specifically I blame all of you for me being so much worse.
It is a real pain to come to the boards and see so many pointless threads of real substance on topics of interest to all. Bring back the days when the pointlessness of posts was of an excellent quality.

I admit that I've come across as an asshole on these boards as of late and I'd like to change that. In this case it's just that the neverending stream of "this board sucks now (but I will still post here anyway yet do nothing to try and change that but endlessly complain)", in my opinion, is just as bad as the weak attempts at humour/acceptance that they are complaining about. It's no excuse for coming off like an aggressive jerk, which is pretty self-defeating and doesn't do much for one's credibility. It annoys me when others do it, but I guess it's just harder to see things you dislike in others in yourself.

I'm sure I'm one of the generics that Jin mentioned above, and the boards may have gotten worse over time. I really couldn't say, considering I seemed to have added to the downfall, (If not that, I got here just as it began) but there's not much people can do about it. Most of the people that complain about the "corruption" of the boards can't do enough to make it better, so they'll just complain until someone else does the work for them.

People aren't going to leave, and they're not going to do anything to make it better. They just want free entertainment...and if they wanted that, they probably didn't have to register.

What Im seeming to notice is that everytime Lotida post something, you all seem to post right back at her, If she's haveing a fun time laughing at your lame insecurities, then I'm sure she's gonna post back, just like any of you would. (including myself) SO instead of telling her to stop posting, because she has a right too, unless she gets banned. (which im sure shes not posting anything to get her banned) then you will just have to deal! And if you dont want her posting then dont say anything right back at her.
