A while ago in the paper here there was an article similar to this, saying how to spot bad movies in trailers. I remember some of the spots:

- A dog cocks his head and makes a 'Hrruummpphh?' sound
- It shows a funeral, wedding or birth scene
- It says 'The best movie since '' "

I should've clipped it. :\

I NEVER said Terminator 3 was "FUCKING GREAT!" I said I enjoyed it. And I said it wasn't nearly as good as the first two.

I'm still trying to figure out why in the beginning of "Punch Drunk Love" there is a car crash and then the van drops off the small organ. Fucking stupid movie.

You should stay away from David Lynch then. You don't need to know the answer to those questions, and there probably aren't any.

I saw this yesterday and I have to say I was fucking surprised as all hell to discover that this movie KICKED ASS.

I absolutely loved it, the ending was awesome, the interesting twist with the T-101's character was fucking cool...and it's nice to see that all the time paradox stuff that was created in T2 is now fixed.

Definitely a worthy movie, completely better than I ever hoped it could be.

:lol :lol :lol :lol :lol :lol :lol :lol :lol :lol :lol :lol :lol :lol :lol :lol

That's a bit more than simply saying you enjoyed it. I always wait a few months to hear what you think of a movie, because it's usually a lot less excited sounding after a couple of months go by. :P

Nice try, Corky. Nice try. ;)

Point is, you're often overexcited about the films after you first see them... then as time goes by you're more realistic about the quality of said films.

Punch Drunk Love was a great movie. The only Adam Sandler movie I've seen where I haven't once felt the urge to put my fist through the screen.

I heard something about how the scene with the car crash and the organ being dropped off was meant to represent something tragic happening later in the movie followed by something great. What a crock of shit.

I hate it when people look too deeply into symbolism. Which is why I've never really liked Lynch

Drew Katsikas
Dec 23rd, 2003, 09:21 PM
Parts of it were kind of fabricated fragmentism, so it was really a lame attempt at symbolism and/or disjunction. However, there were too many brilliant parts to deny it.

I think it gets pretty darn ugly when a commercial of a movie starts to make a sense its own as a seperate movie

That or may be one of those FAST fucking commercials where some shit blows up everydamn nano-second, every fucking cars flip at your face, all the strippers in Las Vegas crack some sexual innuendos while being accompanied by "The Rock" theme song while Ben Afflec says some stupid shit like, "You ready?" :( is a sure sign of a movie that has little or nothing to offer except some utterly pointless (see above)

You know any movie that uses the "Made by the people who produced/directed/peeped in/shitted out [POPULAR MOVIE!]" line is full of shit. Come on now, why should John Q. Public even fucking care about that shit? It's just a desperate attempt to pander to film nerds to get them to see a shitty movie on the cred of any other movie?

Who cares?

-if it features talking dogs (as the main selling point)
-if the poster features two people leaning towards each other looking smug (pretty woman style)
-if 'love' is in the title
-if it tries desperatly to introduce a new catchphrase into society

what is it with horror movies these days that you can pick out the survivors (and order the others die)by looking at the assembled cast of characters? when i was watching wrong turn i saw every death coming a mile away.
