if it actully did something to hate the jews it would be awesome, but alas it is a faithful account of the passion as according to the bible :(

I am gonna go see with some church folks too. I had no idea it was rated R, but then I saw the trailer for it and I kinda understood why.

I checked imdb and it didn't even give the cast members that portrayed the apostles. Odd.

At least this film is a break from the ordinary Gibson-type stuff.

The Mel Gibson-Syndrome.

Mel loses family.

Mel fights bravely to avenge family because he has nothing left to lose.

I can't wait until Mel Gibson says that he is more popular than Jesus and ignites a firestorm of controvery.

I'm kind of surprised he's not playng the Jesus role. Braveheart, patriot; he always plays the "I'm the worlds greatest grandpa" role. He actually stood down on this one.

I'm kind of surprised he's not playng the Jesus role. Braveheart, patriot; he always plays the "I'm the worlds greatest grandpa" role. He actually stood down on this one.He is too old for one. But the real reason is that he doesn't feel he could handle the role of Jesus. He said in an interview recently that he was actually offered the part of jesus on another film when he was younger, but he declined because he believed he wasn't worthy playing him (very humble Catholic man whatever).

I actually want to see this. The word is good on it, except for the churches that don't like a bloody portrayle of Christ- apperently they think he was crucified with towel snappings.

Funny how even a good movie can't be taken seriously when it is connected to religion.

Some of you are real idiots. I'm talking, make-me-wince idiocy. And the one who wants to wear his cool, outrageously zany-because-it's-so-wildly-sacriligious-and-not-at-all-the-obvious-route-to-take t-shirt? I hope God kills you.

It's got Latin, Hebrew and Aramaic, and Gibson didn't want to add any subtitles.

Yeah, and it is commonly stated fact that the hebrew language died out shortly after the death of Christ.
