Drunkenbrigade I read a article in game informer that said Nintendo will be releasing GBA S.P. in new colors that will also have the brighter and apperantly better looking screen that the micro has.

A better sound system for the portable wouldnt hurt either.

Nintendo quietly releases brighter GBA SP

Over at Gamespot, they have an article talking about Nintendo releasing a backlit GBA SP (the original model was a frontlit screen). It's the same price ($80), but the box tells you about the brighter screen.

Apparently, Nintendo did this because... It's Nintendo and trying to figure out a good reason isn't worth the time. But they released it quietly because the Game Boy Micro is being released now. They'd rather push the new handheld than a new model of an old handheld.

But, I guess this means the SP won't be $60 anytime soon.
