LINDS The Suicide Machines closed out the night at the Warped Tour here in WA. They were the best band that played all day, really connected with the crowd. Plus half the people left after Rancid, so it wasn't as crowded.

whoreable I am seriously debating going. Overall the line up is looking kinda lame to me. I have seen lots of great shows this summer and dont know if i want to waste any money on it

Yeah

I went last Tuesday. I am no huge fan of Andrew W.K.s music but his show was awesome. He's a cool guy too. That mofo must have spent 6 hours signing autographs and led a flock of kids into the parking lot after they shut the lights out to keep on signing.

Tsunami Bomb was pretty good. First time I've seen em. Can't get into Rancid. I'm just not cool enough I guess. DKM was pretty good although I must confess they aren't so much my flavor either. Pennywise was cool although after ten years I am maybe tiring of their routine. I dunno, I could do with less politics. Face to Face was awesome and I think they were the most underappreciated band of the day.

Missed LTJ which probably would have been fun. If I were 15 and had little girl boobies I might have cared about the Ataris and Simple Plan but I'm neither so I didn't. I try really hard to hate Sum 41 but they weren't terrible. If it were them of the Ataris, they'd win in my book every day. Caught a little of Thrice, Rufio, Yellowcard, and Mad Caddies. In all not a bad day.

Oh yeah, got to take pictures with Wee Man from Jackass and the crew of the Fox Sports Show "54321". That was pretty neato.

Im going to see Rise Against this Friday here in S.D. I'm all punk rocked out.

punkgrrrlie10 I took my little brother yesterday. I basically only went to see Rancid who was the last show but it was fun to play with the kiddies and watch the skateboarding show. Made me feel like a teenie again. I haven't figured out if that is a good thing or a bad thing.

Face to Face put on a decent live show, although I was really mad when they played Carson Daly's night show, and he says "these guys invented the SoCal sound."
Carson Daily wouldnt know who his mother was if MTV didn't tell him.

You watch Carson Daly? That's so unpunk.

I guess Mike Ness didn't get the memo.

....

I suppose it's sacrilege to like PW but i do and have for quite some time. I actually do not enjoy the B.R. esque anti establishment stuff. I personally dig their self betterment stuff.

Anyway, it's also probably not cool to like F2F but I do, a lot. I've seen them about 15 times all over the country. Western Waste is playing the Cali shows so I'm in for that too. Haven't seen a lot of the bands on the bill so that might be ok.

Honestly, I don't even go to Warped for the bands. I'd rather pay less and see the bands I really like when they play their own tours for a full set. It's more about looking at young post pubescent boobies for me.

Generator86 Sorry, I just wish to reiterate a point. I don't have to drink to enjoy a show. It's just that I went to see Bad Religion specifically. I did all that I could to keep myself from strangling every single one of the teeny-bopper "punk" girls who were there to try to get into the lead singer from New Found Glory's pants. That's why I figured that I would've enjoyed myself if I was drunk. I can stay sober at most shows, but festivals, all bets are off....

Sorry, to me, Pennywise=Mediocre Religion. At least, their first few albums did. Now they're just way to dull for me to handle.

Dropkick Murphys is by no means a sally punk band. Any band whose lead singer quites to join the fire department could not be sally...unless they were all gay and wearing pink fuzzy bunny suits, which they arent.(No I can't prove they dont wear pink fuzzy bunny suits when they are in the comfort of their own homes)

BulletCatcher They had a demo before they put out their full length that was pretty decent. It didn't contain alot of the overly dramatic crap they threw onto the full length and it was done pretty well. More or less I just dont like what they are NOW, but after hearing alot of things about them personally from show promoters I know, I don't ever want to listen to them again.

So yeah, I guess I am a poser
Mar 30th, 2003 11:28 PM
Black Flag You said you kinda like them on your radio show, YOU POSEUR
Mar 30th, 2003 10:30 PM
BulletCatcher FATA = FAIL

That band is literally just trying to exploit the popularity of emotional metalcore. Their lyrics are very melodramatic, their guitar playing (even on the album) is fucking horribly sloppy.

If that isn't enough, I don't know what is.

whoreable hell i will probaly go no matter what...I agree about the achohol. I one year gave this kid a ride to the venue, the dumbass just drank a shit load before hand and spent the whole show throwing up and laying out in a field in the sun....not my idea of fun and seems like a waste of 35 bucks to me...

Are From Autumn to Ashes that bad?? I havent heard much of them but what i did didnt seem that bad :/ ....
Mar 29th, 2003 11:57 PM
BulletCatcher Okay, I usually keep my mouth shut about alcohol and whatever...

But if you need to drink to have fun at a show, stay the fuck home.
