Dole 'I figure the most advantageous thing to do is make some money, get a new car, visit some friends, write my thesis, educate myself, things like that.'

hey presto, there you go- that sounds like a plan to me.

Sethomas Dude, had I done that I'd still be alive, except blind.

I take these things into consideration.

Edit: furthermore, they actually put an agent to induce vomitting in comercial methanol. So I'd be blind, alive, and puking.

Sep 10th, 2003 03:37 AM
sadie given the situation, a change of atmosphere would probably be a good thing anyway.
Sep 10th, 2003 02:41 AM
BaronVonBoner It must have been quite a mess for you to do such a thing.

I'm very interested in your story.

Sethomas Actually, Mr Satan, this will have consumed a full year of my time if things go as she wants.

Basically Glowbelly, last March I decided I'd rather drink half a pint of highly concentrated isopropyl alcohol than deal with a mess I'd created for myself. My roomie just happened to return to our room three hours earlier than usual that day, so an ambulance was called and I was resuscitated. The College told me to take off six months to think about what exactly I'd done. Now they're telling me I need six more.

So it goes.

FS Jesus, six months? Does she realize how big a part of your life that is when you're young?
Sep 9th, 2003 12:23 PM
glowbelly what the funk happened to you (if you don't mind me asking)?

did you take too much acid and end up in the loony bin for awhile or somethin?

Sethomas Had I found out about this earlier, I would have enrolled at Indiana University. It's actually not too late to do that, I'd just have to work my ass off to catch up and my aunt is trying to talk me into it. Another problem is that my college is too pretentious to accept credit from state universities. Since we have a curriculum of classes we must take in common, there's no way I can catch up with my classmates without adding semesters onto my career. So all things considered, it makes little difference whether I go to another school right now or not.

I figure the most advantageous thing to do is make some money, get a new car, visit some friends, write my thesis, educate myself, things like that.

Sadie, the rationale the dean gave me is that she wants to see me in a stable condition for six consecutive months. The thing is, I have no idea where she's starting those six months.
Sep 9th, 2003 10:44 AM
kellychaos Are there any on-line classes or classes you can take at alternate univiersities wherein the credits are accepted at your school that you can take so that you won't get behind?
Sep 9th, 2003 03:29 AM
sadie travesty. what's the dean's specific rationale? if your doctor has released you, i don't see why the dean should have a problem with your returning to classes.
Sep 9th, 2003 02:05 AM
BaronVonBoner Please add any more information you gain on this situation to the board. This Dean fellow sounds like a clever foe.

Sethomas No, I took classes in May and June but haven't since. Currently I'm only involved in the most mundane job of my life.

Sethomas No catalyst to my knowledge, which is the frustrating part. I'm going to petition to begin in January, but I doubt they'll pay heed.
Sep 8th, 2003 06:38 PM
CaptainBubba Was there any specific recent catalyst to this action or did he just think that Sept.8 was the day of days to tell you this?
Sep 8th, 2003 06:32 PM
Sethomas Because I'm KrAaAzY.
