Cases

If Blockbuster throws away all of those old DVD cases, what are the odds of me just going up there and asking for them? I like to store my CD-Roms in there cause I always break jewel cases, and I'd love a free supply of em.

Jebus You could always do what we at blockbuster do, take out the inserts and file them away and throw away the boxes. Then put the dvd's in books.

Poxpower Just give away all the shitty ones in a big I-Mock contest? That would be cool.

I have never bought a DVD or a CD : ) E-V-E-R

Perndog I did drop my classical guitar down the stairs, so I had to replace it...

But no. I just play too many different instruments and like to buy too many little toys.

Bennett do you play exploding guitars?
Nov 5th, 2003 03:14 AM
Perndog Damn, I wish I could afford to own 500 CDs and 200 DVDs. I guess this is what happens when you're a musician and you spend $2000 a year on equipment and maintenance. :/

Jixby Phillips The boxes?
Nov 5th, 2003 02:23 AM
Professor Cool How about sending them to Professor Cool!

Jixby Phillips I just counted my DVDs by number of disks and I have 401 DVDS

I'm seriously considering storing them in binders. I'd save an amazing ammount of space. But I'd never want to throw away the boxes or anything so they'd just be taking up space somewhere else

executioneer sell them on ebay

Cap'n Crunch My brother had nearly 250 DVDs before he sold almost all of them, and he kept them in bins and stuff. I have a DVD rack filled up with horror and comedy movies.

pissed off salesman I bought a lazy susan. It's really neat because I can organize them to how much I watch them (most-top, middle sporadically, and least bottom), plus it spins so I dont have to thumb through them!

whoreable Next time you need dvd cases you should go to blockbuster. Someone was telling me that when they got the lord of the rings in for rental they had hundreds of double cases that they pretty much just throw away. You could probaly get them for free from a manager or take a look in the dumpster after hours

Jixby Phillips I'm so concerned with shelfspace, that sometimes I buy DVDs of stuff I have on VHS just because I'll be saving a half-inch of space on my shelf.

I still have space to double up on my VHS if I need more room for DVDs. But yeah, Almost every tuesday my DVD collection grows and it freaks me out sometimes.

I've also bought double DVD cases, the kind that hold 2 DVDs but are as thick as one DVD case, just so that I can double up on some DVDs, like movies and their sequels, or TV shows that come in volumes, etc.

pjalne We should start a support group.

Protoclown I'm right there with ya too. I've got a DVD shelf that is supposed to hold several hundred, and it's nearly full. My cd shelf holds like 500 cds or so and that's overflowing onto my dresser. I don't have room to put any more shelves in my apartment, so I guess I'm going to have to go with the whole "retire the crappy ones to a box" idea.

pjalne I hate them
