I've got a better idea! Let's taunt Protoclown some more! There's a fantastic bit in series two where the main character is working in his comic store totally slating the Phantom Menace. "You're so niave! You just don't understand! You weren't there at the beginning, you don't know how good it was! This new stuff is a jumped up, firework display of a toy commercial!" Then the camera pulls back to see him insulting a shocked little kid, who saved up all his pennies to buy a Jar-Jar binks toy, and sees the kid run out of the store in tears. Ahhhh. Then he gets fired. |

Fuck yeah you should watch it, Proto! You will not believe the number of geeky references to popular culture in there - no doubt helped by the fact that one of the main characters is in fact a struggling cartoonist who works in a comic shop (by dressing up as a space alien and handing out flyers). His best friend is a weapon expert who got kicked out of the army for commandeering a tank and trying to invade Paris (but stopped off at Disneyland Paris where we was subsequently apprehended on Space Mountain). Marvellous! |

http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/...470228-5035003 It's a British sitcom about two people sharing a flat. It sounds boring and cliché, but it's really, really great. It's absolutely crammed full of movie and comic book references, so it's one for the geeks. I've also heard that the military freak friend and Simon Pegg are working on a new sitcom about rival pub quiz teams. |

Spaced was terribly underrated, but I loved it. I really need to get the DVD sets. I love the ROTJ parody when Tim burns his merchandise after watching The Phantom Menace and the quote 'You're thinking "it's Sunday; I'd rather be in Apocalypse now.' ![]() |

i love it, especially the resident evil episode: "we gotta get out its not safe we, we gotta look for survivors" (tim re-enacting resident evil 2 after playing it too much) |

Spaced Watch it. The most profund observation and exploration of twenty-something life in the new millennium crammed with Star Wars references since, well, Star Wars. |
