Ronnie Raygun In "The Simirillion" alone you could make about 10 different GREAT movies.

I think those were better stories than totr.

If any of you get a chance....read it, if fills in everything about the ancient history of lotr.

Like why Elves have such great eyesight and live longer than men and how middle earth was created and it talks about Melkor....Sauron's master.

You think Sauron was bad?....SHHH!

Melkor was a real bastard!

wtf, it did too it served to show a contrast between the characters when they left and how their adventures changed them and I liked how it showed that there's never really only ONE source of evil in the world to defeat, but many

The scene didn't really serve much purpose in the book, in my opinion, aside from showing what happened to Saruman and Grima Wormtounge after the Ent incident. Aside from that, it didn't do anything for the continuation of the story.
gotcha.

Hahahahaha. Yah the crying ending was dramatic eh. But if they are planning to make "The hobbit" prequel they better get on the ball soon, before they start getting off ideas and making it a S.W.episode 1 disaster.
Hopefully the same actors will cast it...... :/

bigtimecow my friend told me (he read the books) that when samwise goes back to the shire it is taken over by saruman and wormtongue or something, and when frodo and gandalf come back they have a big war freeing the hobbits and fighting saruman.

if that's true, then the ending of the movie blew.

is it?

pjalne I know, the problem is that what that makeup does is to grab his face and pull it back until he looks younger. This is fine for one scene, but walking around with your face in a vice for a full year could get old.

I sure hope he's willing to do it, though.

Perndog pjalne: Bilbo looked the right age in the introduction to Fellowship (the ring finding clip). As long as they don't wait ten years to start shooting The Hobbit, I don't think they'll have a problem.

Anonymous That little cunt. There is no possible way those movies could have been better.
Jan 14th, 2004 10:18 AM
pjalne Yeah, he's doing King Kong. The rights to The Hobbit still lies with the Tolkien estate I think, and Tolkien's kid isn't too keen on selling the rights. He has said that he didn't like what Jackson did with LotR, so we'll see if he really thinks that and sits on the rights or if he's just being a difficult cunt to raise the price before he sells it. Sir Ian 1 is on board, and I really hope they figure out a way to make Sir Ian 2 look young without ripping his face apart so he can return as Bilbo.

PonchtheJedi I'm sure this is all old news and all, but I read an article on Dark Horizons that said that Ian Mckellan is really anxious to do the Hobbit, and so is Peter Jackson, but right now two different studios own the rights. According to him, it's a go as soon as that's worked out, but they won't start on it for quite awhile. I think Peter Jackson is doing his King Kong movie.

pjalne There are a lot of things that have been left out, but the most important ones will be featured in the extended cut. There may be a film version of The Hobbit, the story about Bilbo Baggins and his wild & wacky adventures some thirty years (?) before LotR, but nothing is decided yet.

Lord of the rings- return of the king....the last chapter?

I watched the first two right before I went to see the final chapter in the series....but something seemed to be left out, correct me if im wrong ( I havent read any of the books that tolken wrote.) but the last movie seems to have to many loop holes. Firstly, saruman wasnt even in the damn movie, including grima worm tongue.
Not to mention theres so much left unsaid in the movie to call it the last. It just seemed to be a bit rushed in some points. But it was still a kickass trilogy.

Im just thinking there is gonna be some sorta movie that is gonna be related to the lord of the rings, maybe not....Hopefully if there is something like that being created it wont be like what lucas did to screw with the starwars episodes 1 & 2
