kahljorn My girlfriend wants to be a boy it's a match made in heaven, then sent to hell and refurbished.
Mar 6th, 2004 03:20 PM
glowbelly a girl that i go to school with had a brother who is now her sister. her new sister's boyfriend was a lady who is now a boy.

they are allowed to get married.

the same girl who has the brother turned sister is gay. she's been with her gal for 7 years. she can't get married.

i get angry over the whole thing because it really doesn't have a place in politics. i was stunned when i heard that w proposed amending the american constitution with an item that would exclude part of the american populace.

it's just plain icky to do that. it's even more scary.

so i signed it.

kahljorn That's what I'm getting married BEFORE i have the sex change.
Mar 5th, 2004 01:26 PM
Bobo Adobo I didn't sign, and you know why?

BECAUSE I DONT CARE! Most of the gay people I have known don't even want to get married, let alone should. Focus on some real issues.

kahljorn Without ugliness we wouldn't know who was hot, and things would look bland and boring.

Like taking the black and white out of the black and white movies.

imported_Hollycaust oh i didn't sign it.

as a matter of factlyness, hideous ppl should be stripped of any rights whatsoever... i don't see nature helping out with downing ugly genetics so i say the lawmakers better start thinning out these nasties.

kahljorn "In March 2004, 53 nations will sit at the United Nations in Geneva to discuss, argue, vote and then publicly declare if they believe sexual orientation and gender identity are human rights or not.

In other words, they will say whether being Lesbian, Gay, Transgender, Transsexual, Bisexual (or heterosexual for that matter) is a basic right of human beings."

I quoted that from another website, I can't remember the actual artical for it... there was a petition for this one as well, fuck if I know why it is in "Brazil".

Sometimes I wonder if it is envy that drives the anti side of this debate. Envy that these "disgusting perverted gays" have a beter grasp of love and commitment than a lot straight people could ever hope to have.

Envy that I don't know how to coordinate my clothes maybe :/

Sheesh

What about that fact that many of the gay couples that want marraige have been living together for over 15 years already?

I think they have passed the "trial phase"

Hell, from what I have seen the people who have come to SF to get m,arried have far better relationships that almost any straight couple I know.

On the issue of kids....how often do you think that a mono gay couple has an accidental pregnancy? Seriously, there is no "ooops" I'm pregnant. They have thought about, wanted and planned for their children. That is a hell of a lot better than a lot of kids ever get.

Dole, I agree with you all the way. 2 loving parents REGARDLESS OF THEIR SEX are what matters. Especially when you consider the rate of abuse these days.

Pern I'm with you as well.

Funny, hetero couples in large part have come to the point were divorce is common, people have starter marriages, kids out of wedlock and so on. There is so little respect for the institution of marriage. And yet these gay couples have respect for it, want it and are being denied it.

Thanks for your input, Mr. Marx.

I agree that marriage as an institution has lost its relevance. But I don't mean families shouldn't exist. I mean marriage was invented by religions as a license for people to have sex and kids and in order to keep them together. But now that a) premarital sex is socially acceptable and b) divorce is popular and has no stigma attached, marriage doesn't succeed at its original purpose. Couples who will stay together in today's society will stay together whether they're married or not. Marriage is obsolete and unnecessary.

And I'm not going to go into the family issue.

Love and stability are more important than just gender surely.
I think there a better people to argue the point that a man and woman are a better combination for children but that's what I think is best. It's a new thing for gay's to marry so let them wait a year and if they marry and a year later are stable then they can apply for adoption or what ever else they want to do. There is a very big possibility that alot of non gay people will abuse the system and claim they are gay and ruin what they are fighting for.
Mar 4th, 2004 12:11 PM
Dole No, a loving stable family is the best. There are plenty of 'moms and dads' who should never have been allowed to have children and are fucking terrible at raising kids. Love and stability are more important than just gender surely.
Mar 4th, 2004 11:50 AM
FartinMowler Mom and dad is the best.

Well if it is a child that would be adopted or artificial incemination I think that the kid deserves a stable home :/
How is a straight family more stable than a gay one?

Dole Fartin, why is it worse if a gay couple who have kids split up than a straight couple who have kids splitting up? You cant have restrictions on one and not the other, especially considering even if it was legal everywhere you are still going to have many more straight couples with kids divorcing than gay ones.
