Jixby Phillips 9/14 - Orca: The Killer Whale, I Married a Monster from Outer Space, Bug, Body Parts, Friday the 13th: From Crystal Lake to Manhattan - The Ultimate Edition DVD Collection (the first 8 movies on 5 discs)

I don't understand when people say "I HATE TWO SIDED DISKS ITS SO ANNOYING TO HAVE TO FLIP THEM OVER" in the case where the alternative is taking the disk out, putting it away, then putting in a new disk. That makes absolutely no sense to me.

And besides, I never said ANYTHING about them being 2-sided. If you paid closer attention to my anology (the quality of a 3 hour movie vs. a 90 minute movie), you'd understand this. Do they routinely split 3 hour movies into 2 and put each half on each side? no, they don't. Maybe they did when DVDs were new (the first DVD of The Color Purple comes to mind), but they don't do it now. So I don't know how you could have gotten the impression that I meant to imply that they'd be double-sided disks.

They put 4 episodes of the sopranos on one (side of a) disk, and they still look fantastic. 2 episodes of the sopranos = (in length) 1 Friday the 13th movie.

Who said they're had to be double-sided discs to begin with? The Problem Child "tantrum pack" has both movies on one single-sided disc. I don't see why they couldn't do that with these.
That be cool.

sports 2-sided DVD's suck (course, this is imo)

1. They get dirty easier than 1-sided Disc's.

2. It gets annoying to turn the disc over for extras (in this case, another movie)

Paramount is doing this, cause it's well known they dislike this series.

Jixby Phillips What? How does that make them bastards, you fucking moron? It saves space, and it's not like theres going to be huge jump in quality... on your average big studio DVD release a 3 hour movie (the equivilant of 2 Friday the 13th movies) looks just as good as a 90 minute movie does. It saves fucking shelfspace.

sports Those bastards. .

New Line gaved each film of the Nightmare on Elm Street Series, their own disc, in the boxset. Plus a bonus disc with extras.

And finally, you Jason fans can look forward to that long-awaited Friday the 13th box set of all eight Paramount flicks in the series on September 28th. Watch for a full press release in early June.
If it really is a five-disk set, then it sounds like they're going to put 2 movies per disk, then include a disk of extras.

Friday the 13th, 5 Disc?

1st 5 movies on DVD in a box-set, or a 5 Disc Collection for the 1st movie?
