Schimid I don't know why I like the song so much. It's just so kinda melancholy and hopeful at the same time. If Tonberry posts in this thread I'll be pissed

P.S. ice cave chant is good too

eggyolk That life in the mines was first played during the level where you first met the frog. Another favorite is the level with the Mine Carts.

Rongi What a bunch of pretencious snots.
Jun 3rd, 2004 10:45 PM
ProfessorCool They also said Battletoads was overrated, and whined about it being a TMNT Rip-off.

Jun 3rd, 2004 10:43 PM
Rongi People actually value gamespy's opinions? How very sad...
Jun 3rd, 2004 10:37 PM
Schimid And I don't like Gamespy.
Jun 3rd, 2004 03:18 PM
Nerd Gamespy doesn't like it.

James DKC probably had some of the best music for an SNES game. The quality was pretty much revolutionary. You would be used to hearing bleeps and bloops of a midi-style music track, but DKC had CD-quality music that sounded like actual instruments. Hell, I don't even think any Nintendo-made game to date has had better music.

The final boss battle had some good music.

ArrowX That song's great I can't remember it

The only one I can remember lots was 3 because My aunt bought it from a bargain bin at some store and sait it looksed better than the other ones

Mockery Can someone upload this song so I can listen to it? I need some new music here at work anyway.
Jun 3rd, 2004 07:45 AM
pjalne Life in the Mines is awesome. I got one of those SNES music players about a month ago, and the DKC music was top priority when I set out to download stuff to play on it. Then I felt like a fag for listening to SNES music on my computer, but only for a short while.

Also, I'm playing the DKC games these days when taking a break from studying for my exams. I just got a hardcore gamepad and a card with tv-out for my computer, so I can play emu games on the tv.

Schimid I hate to change the subject, but the song "Life In The Mines" is one of the best video game songs ever. I don't know where exactly it plays, but I heard it on the sound dump.

Skulhedface [eternal optimist] It'll only be $30, not $50 [/optimist]

I find the only games I buy for GBA are originals (Metroid Fusion/Zero Mission, Mario Vs. Donkey Kong, etc.).

I don't even own a GBA. I do, however, have the Game Boy Player for Gamecube. *shrugs*
Jun 2nd, 2004 10:24 PM
James Yes, let's pay $50 for the same game we bought years ago, just so we can play it for a week in 10-minute increments while you wait for a bus.
Jun 2nd, 2004 10:21 PM
EverythingWillSuck I loved the second game. Can't wait for the GBA version so I can take it portable. I just hope they don't make new crappy music or something

Perndog The other time being when your girlfriend kicked you out and you had to move back home for a while, right?
Jun 2nd, 2004 08:54 PM
Skulhedface I remember DKC being a franchise I absolutely loved.

Course, my mom was dating this rich guy at the time it came out... and by rich I mean "One of the walls in his living room is a friggin' TV!" Playing DKC on a HUGE TV was just... mind blowing.

I suppose it was one of those times my mom being a slut paid off
Jun 2nd, 2004 08:47 PM
ProfessorCool Eh, it was a fun game for one go around. Nothing beats the classic arcade though.
Jun 2nd, 2004 08:02 PM
Perndog Ahem.
Jun 2nd, 2004 06:46 PM
eggyolk I'm not a fan of DKC3, but the first and second one were DELICIOUS!!
Jun 2nd, 2004 05:51 PM
James DKC was one of the best series ever, and this is coming from someone who doesn't really like platformers. Damn shame there's nothing in sight for the future, unless you count Jungle Beat or whatever faggy thing it is. :/
Jun 2nd, 2004 05:42 PM
Emu I got it. I almost shit my pants.
