I've never actually seen a "hi, I'm new thread" get locked, or anyone get banned for one. The only penalty is being labeled as a no-rule reading jerk. Used to be, there was no rule, and they were just mean to newbs for the heck of it. I still fondly recall the pages of ambiguous threats and insults broverg left on my AIM the morning after my first post. :nostalgia |
