Ninjavenom Thanks fellows for the advice :O

I've tried doing the #2 types with color before, but they came off rather embarassing looking. If i find the time and/or materials i'll try to pull off a similar piece, with charcoal and wtercolor.

I hope no one is mistaking my naievity in watercolor (or tempra, i honestly don't remember what i painted him in) for skill, though. The eye smuudge was an accident, but i did do all the three-dimension contrast on his body on purpose.

And furthermore, i think it's creepy that we doodle the same way, Rez :o

Rez if he puts any color it'll be like a crack addled miro. and no one likes miro.

joking.

i like the second one fine, actually, it doesnt matter to me what you do with it. i like it very much, because it's the same shit i do CONSTANTLY when i'm in my classes. and it's a strange but good thing when someone "doodles" the same as you. i think the two circles in the middle tie it together just fine.

number 4 fucking rocks as well. the colouring for the subject (as helm already pointed out) is great and ALSO exact. i see way too many people think that this style means they can go all over the fucking place without an outline, but it's "refreshing" to see it reined in like that.

good work.

glowbelly you wanna tie number 2 together? bring some color into the mix. that might work, but i would be cautious and if you could do it electronically first, as to not mess up the original drawing.

Helm Ok. The first image is too blurry to be sure, but I think that's a blob-ish creature smoking a pipe and a cigarette. Can't really tell you much because of the scanning, really.

The second one is the sort of art I don't think anyone can find viscerally emotional, but as a composition it is interesting, in the way modrian or kandinsky or general geometric abstraction is interesting. I urge you to read some of modrian's thesis so that you understand the esoteric significance of the style you're emulating here. For example, horisontial lines represent femininity and vertical lines masculinity and other such. I personally find most types of symbolistic art to be rubbish, but geometric abstraction isn't one I've studied enough to have an oppinion on.

The third one. Red Robot Destroy. Fire! Fire! DESTROY ALL FEELIES! A NEW BREED OF MAN-KILLER

Yus.

The general shapes of the raging red robot of destruction are ok. The scenery is minimally implemented, to the point that I'm not sure what's going on in the lower left part. That's my basic crit.

About the fourth piece. I think it's brilliant. The kinda 'naive' of the colouring fits the subject matter a million times better than detailed work would. The red robot is captured best in a world of contrast, I think. I love how the paint-job isn't level and it's a nice clash with the flood-fill yellow background (good complementing colour on the red, too) I like the flames, everything! I wish I had drawn that one. Maybe I'd have put laser eyes and maybe crashing a helicopter with the claw, but I think this is awesome.

Ninjavenom Thanks fellers. I would like to continue on with the Kandinksy-rip-off style i'm doing in the second one, but i can't figure out what to do with it. You're right that it's a little too chaotic. Is there something i can do to pull it all together? I was thinking of a crooked border that ran right into the picture itself, but i don't think that'd come off right. Any suggestions? And also, good call about the smudginess of 4, Spectre. I was just pleased that i could get some depth without abusing outlines, this year was the first time i got to use paint in ages.

Spectre X I love the second one, although I'm not such a huge fan of the fourth one. It's just a bit smudgy.

FS Drawing 1 makes me say: Lovecraftian cigarette ad.

Drawing 2 makes me say: feiahfoeiabfeoaibfoaeiblaaarghfalefjkaejfalkejf

Drawing 3 makes me say: RED ROBOT CRUSH! KILL! DESTROY!

Drawing 4 makes me say that also.

The seconed is one of the best drawings of scribbles I have ever seen however, its chaos.

da blob it's my favourite out of the 4. needs some more contrast to set the composition better, as the way it is now it goes a bit everywhere. But nice start.

Four things i've done recently

Besides the picture quality (my scanner is broken), i'd like to know what people think about these, especially the second one.
