People have already started wondering if Wal-Mart is going to close the outlet, but it would be illegal for them to do so under Canada's labour laws, if my memory serves me correctly. Employers can't engage in retributive action due to unionization, because there's a lot of government officials that have to send their kids to college and fines against big companies can be pretty hefty. Wal-Mart said yesterday that they only close stores for "economic reasons." |
