Being in a relationship or making friends shouldn't be an act. If you're worthwhile to be around and genuinely a good person, people will be attracted to you. But if you spend all your time trying to impress people and joke, you become annoying and deserve to be alone. |

I'm usually pretty good at thinking up material on-the-spot, but I swear, there have been times where I spent days working on a joke and coming up with a list of perfect times to use it, just so I can get ONE smile from a girl I like. Yeah, I suck.

I mean, past the initial flirting stage you can drop most of the facade and start acting like a serious person. Not that you can't make jokes anymore, just that you don't constantly have to be that guy who does that thing that makes them laugh. | |

I can't be cool When I first meet a girl I can pretty much be smooth and make them laugh for the first few weeks, but after a while this wears off and I just turn into a nonce. No matter how hard I try I can't seem to be cool around girls I like for more than a few weeks. This in turn makes me more depresed and boring to be around. I honestly don't think it is from being nervous. Does anybody else have a similar sort of problem? |
