Wacky Psychopathy of the Week I decided to keep this going, because you learn best by teaching others. This week - Mauchausen Sydrome by Proxy A form of Mauchausen Syndrome, or Factitious Disorder, in which a parent causes or promotes illnesses in their children, as opposed to themselves. In regular Mauchausen syndrome, the motive is unknown, but in by proxy, the suspect motivation is a need to be regarded as an excellent parent and tireless in caring for a childs needs.
