Shamefully enough, the thought of looking for a patch did not occur to me. I found one that among other things, dealt with 'problems with Radeon cards'. And it worked. gggggg |

HickMan | My brother had SR2 problems on the computer also. We couldn't fix it and he eventually bought the PS2 version :/ |

Might as well try one last time - Soul Reaver 2 PC trouble Months ago I bought Soul Reaver 2 for PC. I figured it would run on my new PC, specs: 3000+ (2.17 GHz) AMD Athlon XP 512 MB DDR ATI Radeon 9200SE with 128 MB memory In fact, the PC was a lot more new than the game. However, when I start it up, the start sreen is a bright pink/purple mess, in which I can vaguely see moving objects. I've played the game on my laptop (where it run atrociously), and I know these are 3D objects floating around the menu screen, but they're barely visible now. When I start the game, the screen is almost black, but I can vaguely see some discolored black & gray blobs on some walls. Eidos offers next to no troubleshooting help for this problem. The logical suggestion would be to go to ATI's site and download all the latest drivers, but that's the thing - I have no idea what to download. Most of the downloads I see are stuff I already have, like the control panel. Then there's all kinds of utilities I don't think I need. I've tried looking for, in particular, drivers for the latest version of DirectX, but that didn't help either. Besides, I already had DirectX 9 on this PC, while Soul Reaver 2 uses DirectX 8. Help? |
