GI Joe was pretty fucking hardcore back in the '80s. I also have fond memories of the Transformers as well. Shit, whatever happened to comics that rocked like that?? Talk about subversive. |

| Krythor | I had some GI Joe VS Transformers comics. They were incredibly stupid but they were pretty sweet. |

| ArrowX | I had one of those where they attack destro and he KILLs one of the joes. Then some jamacain guy shoots someone in the face with a grappling hook. I beleive it was "GI Joe Extreme" |

GI Joe comics It occurred to me recently that I used to own a GI Joe comic that either got lost or accidentally sold away. All I can remember of it is that, compared to the blue/pink laser cartoon, it was pretty fucking brutal. The issue I had involved an interrogation scene with a guy beaten to a pulp and very nearly getting a pencil jabbed into his eye. Then later on the Joes use matches to get rid of leeches in a swamp. I wouldn't mind reading more of those, though by that I don't mean I'm willing to actually buy old issues. Anyone know if there's perhaps scanned pdf versions of them found anywhere? I guess it's not too likely, but still. |
