kellychaos | When you are given a day off, cut off (or turn off) all forms of communication that lead to you and leave your home. This is called reduction of guilt by ommision. I didn't hear your pleas for help; therefore, they do not exist.

For all that said employers will walk all over me, not really. I put myself for any hours on any day on the availibility form. I want to seem reliable, and I could care less if they asked me to come every day. It was just that I had no sleep. |

Because paramedics can sleep or surf the net or watch TV between calls. They aren't ALWAYS working. Unless you live in a busy city. I've heard of some older paramedics who'd work an ENTIRE WEEK straight, before the law in this state got changed. |

Carnivore | You're all a bunch of pansies. I've worked 48 hours straight before. I'd do it again if they still allowed it! One of my coworkers worked 72 hours straight once.

It's true. Be a diligent worker if you want, but stick by your hours or they'll bleed you for every second you've got at any given opportunity. Or frame someone else into becoming the overtime bitch. |

All you fuckers are morons. Man, the way my job works is that it's one person working the store for the entire day, 10 hours on weekdays. I wanted to make a good impression so I took a day for someone once but holy crap that gave me 3 days in a row with a 10 hour work day. I'd never give up a day I don't work again, and neither should you Mr. Harty. Start now and they'll always ask you. |

Getting called in for work... When you've got 0 hours of sleep, and it's supposed to be your day off. Trying to make a good impression though. ![]() |
