MetalMilitia There is a show here called 'cosmetic surgery live'. IMO that is just fucked up, I would rather poke myself in the eye with a fork rather than watch someone having their breasts enlarged or whatever.
TV sucks these days...

dreaddi I agree with you, reality tv is going too far. They're even filming people getting butchered up for the sake of "beauty". The worst is that show on MTV, "I want a famous face". Creepy

James The new season will have Stephen Baldwin as the new host. I like Shannen's ass a lot better than his, although he DOES have a nice ass.

pjalne In the nineties, we had a candid camera series over here where they would fuck with celebrities. In one of the episodes, they somehow got a B-celeb into a helicopter, and while he was up there someone called and said his wife was dead.

Ninjavenom I was just telling HughBristic last night that i wish Gladiatorial combat were a real sport again, and 90% of all pay channeling into that of sports players would be redirected to Gladiators, who deserve million dollar contracts more than football players do.

James I love this show, and it's coming back for another season.

There is something very amusing about seeing people almost shit their pants over some of these things. It's a Candid Camera sort of thing, but with a Sci-Fi/Horror twist. Sometimes, they suck. Sometimes, they're great.

Just the concept of putting someone in these positions and scaring the shit out of them is delightful to me. And I would find it HILARIOUS if they told someone their parents died in a car crash, but it would only fit in with the show if they came back as zombies and tried to each their child. That would be even more awesome.

I remember that "Zapped" sketch on the Chappelle Show. It was meant to show how "reality tv" could go to far. Seems it already did.

I never bothered to see the show, I have a deep resentment to Sci-Fi.

Krythor I'm in wales and I see those cocksuckers just hanging around all the time.

I really fucking hate that piece of shit show, on a personal level.

MetalMilitia Agreed, shows like that suck. Although i think dirty sanchez is quite funny, probably because they are welsh and insist on bieng naked during their various 'stunts' but jackass will always be the best imo.

sports There are probably C-movies out there that are better than that shit(scaretactics).

What is wrong with people? Candid Camera knockoffs are never very funny, but this show doesn't seem to even try. In the episode I just watched, they pulled a 'prank' on a guy who worked for a repo service. He was sent into a house to pick up, among other things, a freezer, and found a -fairly convincing- bloody corpse wrapped in plastic inside it. After he got over the initial shock and looked again, he vomited. HA HA HA I'm sorry, but to me that's pretty much the equivalent of telling someone their parents died in a horrible accident. It kinda reminds me of how MTV's Dirty Sanchez tries to be Jackass by having a bunch of guys just smash, stab and slash at each other, without any of the weird stunts or humor Jackass at least offers.

I suppose it's all part of the mindnumbing Reality TV hype, where everyone wants nothing more but to see other people cry and get humiliated. And sometimes, as with all such shows, it's fairly obvious that it's staged. Still, it's kind of like we're all slowly devolving back to Roman gladiator stature. Only the gladiators aren't armed, and they volunteered for the job, and they have to stand around while they're shown footage of their girlfriends cheating on them and someone hits them with a bat.

I Hate Brenda.
