Jixby Phillips I have a panasonic dvd recorder and they wouldn't nearly be as nice, I can only copy the straight video... it would have no (non-crappy) menus, no audio commentary, it wont be anamorphic, etc. But it would be widescreen ;_;

Command Prompt ORIGINAL starwars I NEVER thought I'd have to say that.

DamnthatDavid I'm going to wait and buy the Original Triology DVD, you know, when George springs a "Unedited, original original" release on us some time after everyone has purchased the recent DVDs. I know how the money grabbing, idiotic sonvabitch thinks, he will release them. To many people are bitching about the new ones, and George will release them, and everyone will buy them.

Then, everyone is going to buy the dual triliogy pack. The 3 new ones with the 3 old ones. Edited again.

Command Prompt Do you have a DVD burner and a desire to make 30 dollars plus shipping?

Jixby Phillips For 21 bucks (including shipping) I got the original versions on DVD. It's a present for my dad for christmas. It's the three movies, anamorphic widescreen, and they come from the laserdisks. No 1997 changes, no 2004 changes. They look pretty goddamned good, probably the best you'll ever see the original trillogy on DVD. There's even the old audio commentaries from the laserdisk on it.

I also got a fourth disk that has the star wars holiday special, the episode of the muppet show with the cast of star wars, and 58 toy commercials from 1977-1983.
