EverythingWillSuck I saw it last night, it was good. There were actually lots of people in the theater.

McMock I loved the bit where they were all mimicing zombies. Ed did a really funny zombie imitation which still makes me half crack up thinking about it. I loved everything about the movie, except maybe the really long drawn out scene where they're arguing on whether or not to shoot <PERSON LEFT OUT> in the pub.

Still, it can't hold a candle to Dead Alive. That's the ultimate horror/comedy zombie flick.
I partially agree. Half of the humor in Dead Alive was, it seems to me, unintentional.
Granted, the Zombie baby in the park had me rolling with laughter, and the kung-fu priest, and the lawnmower to chest, over all it was a situational/sight gag type humor, which is freaking hilarious.

Before you point it out, yes, most of the humor in Shaun of the Dead was like that also, but... I don't know, I just like the... background humor, that Shaun of the dead had, to complement the foreground humor.

I.E. when Shaun and Liz are talking about the end in the basement of the pub, and killing themselves, and Ed is dying and mumbling in the background.
Or the final, parting jokes at the end of the film.

They are both hilarious movies I guess... but I enjoyed Shaun of the Dead a little bit more.

I hope I can have a pint of beer with Dole one day, sitting on a Terrace critisizing people that walk by.
Just do that with you better half/Biological Punching Bag

Mockery It was pretty good, not quite as good as I was hoping, but it was still well-done and the humor wasn't the kind of British humor that makes me want to destroy everything in sight. The funny moments were real funny.

I wasn't scared, but the girl I was with was jumping at every little noise.
I can't tell you if it is scary, it is something to judge for yourself.
To find something funny is a personal thing too. So its British zombie movie that might be funny and could be scary.

Ant10708 "I come home tonight with a renewed sense of hope in the Horror Comedy genre of movies. Shaun of the Dead managed to drop jokes, spoofs, and comedy, with perfect british timing, into every scene possible. May it be a relaxing on the couch, being depressed about the zombies and the end of the world, or while someone is torn to shreds.
If you look, you will find something to laugh at every time. I'm a bit of a fan of good British humor, mainly Red Dwarf. So I was a bit worried on how this movie would turn out. I was amazed at how good it was."

You mention Horror comedy but that doesnt tell me if it could be scary or not.

DamnthatDavid Darko, for the fucking love of the movie, switch to your avatar to Johnny the Homicidal Maniac, or to Donnie Darko.
You already ruined those, WHY RUIN ANOTHER MOVIE?

Shit boy, I don't want to imagine your dumbass posts everytime I see Shaun of the Dead.

Captain Goodtimes Oh no, Burger Lord was killed before we could find out his opinion on the movie.
Sep 29th, 2004 02:23 PM
Burger Lord I went to see it last weekend, and noticed the theatre room was mostly empty. I thought it was good though,
Sep 29th, 2004 05:15 AM
Captain Goodtimes I saw it and it was great. I liked how the music fit with the zombie bashing of it all. They were like 12 other people in the theater uncluding myself and a friend, surprised no one is seeing this.

Protoclown I loved the movie...and I actually had a couple people already tell me that Shawn reminded them of a cross between me and Rowan Atkinson...so that's kind of weird that I was also compared to the guy in this thread.
