the_dudefather rad gravity

the "99% of nes games are crap" could be said about playstation games, or indeed many console games
Oct 6th, 2004 05:58 AM
Mad Melvin I dont know how well this game is known in USA, but have you tried Rad Gravity? Its a good game altough a bit hard.

Supafly345 I have been going through every rom from # to Z at theoldcomputer.com for the past month or so gathering knowledge about the lesser known titles and of all their stories so I can do some works on different NES running themes. And in that time I have found that only about half of the games are crap, but even they are still fun because of their crappiness. I actually never knew their were so many fantastic games on the NES untill I started doing my research. I mean fuck, I am only up to D and I already have found too many favorites, that I just played for the first time, to list.

I might never finish going through all of them since I find a favorite every 3 games or so. One of the one's that I found that I found the most fun, and plays the best, is Big Nose Freaks Out. Try it James, it is fantastic. It might have been one of those aladdin super duper games, and that is why it is so rad, but so what.

It's not a matter of timing. It's just with the shadows, you'll hit the bell so many times you don't know what color it's going to change to next, or if it'll even land on a color. It's also a pain when you're trying to keep a bell in the air while fighting enemies, or if an enemy gets in your line of fire, and you miss hitting the bell.

It's a fun game though, don't get me wrong.
Well, honestly, by the time you have the shadows and the laser, you really don't need the bells anymore unless you're just going for points or something. At that point, you need to just focus on the enemies and the bosses, cuz you can't get any more powerful.

Glad ya dig the game though, everybody I've ever shown it to seemed to really enjoy it.

James I didn't know you could catch your angel.

when you die your ship's "angel" floats up to the top of the screen. If you catch it before it flies off the screen, you get all your power-ups back instantly.

As for the bells, you just gotta get used to the timing. It becomes second-nature eventually and then you'll become a master of one of the greatest games ever.

eggyolk try mario bros.
Oct 5th, 2004 05:12 PM
EverythingWillSuck try Wait and See!

eggyolk Try Bucky O'Hare.

James Yeah, I got that, but then I died.

The shadows also make it hard as fuck to get what you want from the bells. They hit it so many times, the bell cycles through everything so fast. I was TRYING to get the laser, but it wouldn't let me.

Then I tried to get the shadows again, but it gave me a stupid forcefield.

I hate that when you die and lose all your powerups, you're fucked. You don't stand a chance anymore, not even long enough to get a powerup again. :/

The best is when you can pick up a flashing jingle bell, because it will make "shadows" of your ship that can all shoot using whatever weapon you currently have. If you get those along with the laser shot, you're practically unstoppable.

The bosses in the game rule and everything in it is pretty much insane. I love the music too.

mew barios im not sure what it is.. when i went back an played old nes games again, i found them to mostly just irritate me and not be fun at all. especially ones i hadn't played before. an actually o.o i broke like 8 of those damn nes controllers when i was a wee bebe so it musta been irritating back then too :o i still like kirby though.

James OK, this is pretty fun. I got a laser shot, but I finally died and lost it.

Mockery Played "Stinger" before? If not, download it from the classic games site. There's an ollld review of it on there and it's one of my favorite games of all time for the NES.
Oct 5th, 2004 02:30 PM
James I've been looking through roms to try and find something new to play. I can't find anything that doesn't suck horribly, and everything good I already have.
Oct 5th, 2004 01:40 PM
Mockery I've concluded that your conclusions are inconclusive.

Oct 5th, 2004 01:22 PM
Mad Melvin ok. Well good luck with that.
