For the record, I'm a registered Independent. Like you, I was not fond of either candidate, but I thought Kerry sucked less. My vote was more against-Bush than it was for-Kerry.
Ditto.

And explain how they'd manage to pull that off, Davin.

They can't just stiff Specter arbitrarily -- not if they don't want a scandal.

You know what, guys, I'm glad this happened in 2004 and not 1904. Now we can watch the fall of our once great country on national television.

ONE party is now in control of almost every major branch of government, and considering Rehnquist's health, the Supreme Court is not far from being re-stacked in Bush's favor.
I wouldn't worry too much about that.

Arlen Specter was re-elected here in PA, and he's expected to become the Chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee. He's already pledged that he would never allow extremists to be appointed to the Supreme Court on his watch.

This administration now has the means and wherewithal to put their indelible stamp on the development of American society for the next several decades. Given Bush's stated conservative social beliefs and his libertarian economic policies, I'm scared for the well-being of America as a whole.

McClain Hey hey. I can't really disagree with any of you. With that being said, are any of you interested in my action figure?

McClain made me LOL.

Those of us who are part of the more vocal anti-Bush crowd are super-pissed, and have every right to be. We realize what a dangerous time this is. ONE party is now in control of almost every major branch of government, and considering Rehnquist's health, the Supreme Court is not far from being re-stacked in Bush's favor. These factors are ideal for the birth of a true totalitarian state. I don't know about you, but I'm not too thrilled about that scenario.

Even more importantly, after every lie that man and his cronies have told, every shitty initiative he's passed or tried to pass, every death he has caused, and every promise he has broken, 51% of the people voted for that fucking douchebag. It's truly mind-boggling. Now, we'll never know what kind of president Kerry would have been, but I'd surely rather throw the dice on him, rather than the guy who is already a proven loser.

I wouldn't expect this mess to quiet down any time soon.

Cosmo Electrolux that pretty much summed it up Dole....

ziggytrix Were you expecting everyone to just get the fuck over it and move on in under 24 hours? That's a pretty tall order for the more rabildy anti-Bush among us.

I, for one, had a LOT of steam to blow off when I realized that we stuck with the lovable monkey child for another 4 years. It's definitely about my distate for Bush more than any love for the Democratic party or Kerry.

Dole I think its fair to say it was more of a case of people not wanting bush to win than being supporters of the democrats. Lesser of two evils was never truer.
