McMock I think so too. The problem is that right now, the marjority of people still don't like homosexuals, and we all know that the majority is always right, especially when it's not.

There was once a time when it was the norm to think black slaves were inferior, remember? Don't trust people to think for themselves, at best they'll bother themselves with choosing which existing thought is the best one to ally themselves with, and that tends to, unfortunately, be the one they gain most profit from, i.e. the one the majority supports.

That's why these stupidities are so wonderfully self-sustaining and so hard to kill.

FS The word 'homophobe' is also often used for its effect. Instead of calling someone a bigot, you call them a pussy and possibly a homosexual in denial. Not that that's productive.

Technically, homophobia is just a fear of gays, not a hatred of them.

And you really think phobias are considered okay? Who calls xenophobia okay?

Think about it. What do you call someone who hates black people just because they are black? Racist. Man who hates women? Sexist. Hell, there are even ageist. However, hatred of gays is simply homophobia. It is never ok to be an "ist" of any kind, but to have a phobia is normal and socially accepted. So, hatred of gays, while considered bad by some, is simply considered as annoying as a fear of heights or snakes.
